Blizzard reveals new shooter called "Overwatch"

Blizzard revealed they're new project that they've been sitting on for god knows how long. Yeah its a shooter, Odd but cool i stoked to see blizzes take on this.

The new first person shooter from blizzard, looks very similar to tf2 crossbreeded with pixar films. The game looks incredibly fun, the variety in the classes is certainly very interesting.

 

"This year, it's a big one:Overwatch, its first new property in 17 years. The visuals are very Pixar-esque, at least from the teaser trailer, but literally nothing else is known right now."

 

"Overwatch is a "team based multiplayer shooter," which sounds awfully like a reworked version of its long-in-development (and recently-canceled) project Titan.  Based on the gameplay footage, it's Blizzard's version of Team Fortress 2, with highly stylized, anachronistic, anthropomorphic characters."

Details are scarce right now, but this is what we know:

◾Team based, multiplayer shooter.

◾Very approachable, not hard for new players to get into the game.

◾The game will be playable in Hall C at BlizzCon. 600 machines loaded with OverWatch.

◾Release "nearer than you think." Beta starts in 2015. Sign up at playoverwatch.com.

K the game's aesthetics are ass in my opinion, but those rapid fire/rewind abilities are fucking cool. Gameplay looks fun and unique.

This might be the first game made by Blizzard that I'll actually play since Diablo II.

So the same bullet points blizz generally gives in response to their new games (team base, multiplayer, approachable, release Soon).

 

I am reservedly excited for a new IP from Blizzard just not sure we needed it in the form of another game thats inline with the TF style of gameplay.

I thought this reminded me of TF2 (at least in terms of looks) but it seems pretty off-the-wall with the gameplay style. Is it really that similar?

I know I'm gonna sign up for the beta on this. Can't say I'm willing to install TF2 ever.

TF2 style games have been made before but they all failed because they failed to understand what made TF2 what it is. User generated content, community driven game. I'm not sure if Blizzard can pull that off.
