Well my newfound additiction to adding a shot of peach schnapps to all my drinks is going to become expensive. Fortunately I'm buying the cheaper non Archers brands, same flavor but 2.5% less alcohol, I'm only having it for the flavor anyway.

Bought one yesterday.

Its nice. Thin and well I will need a few days to get a full experience but so far, very impressed.

MS Lumia 950XL

Its bigger than my Lumia 925. I cannot wait to test the continuum function . . . .

Picked this up for my wife, she loves it so far. BLU HD LTE. It is definitely a nice phone in its own right as well.

Nvidia Shield Tablet K1 - battery life isn't bad if you mainly use it in battery saver mode and remember to put it into that before not using for a long time. Can get a day out of it now before needing to charge again, approx 6-8  hours on time.

Try avoiding updating to Android 6.0 if you havnt yet, it has loads of battery wasting bugs. Also download a ram and CPU optimizer app that will alert you when the CPU use is high and reduce it down.

Got the above for $822 ($545USD incl. tax) from PBTech in Manukau. Seemed to be the only laptop that struck the balance between price, performance, and physical size for my needs.

Then I bought this sticker to put on it.

Yeah, I updated to 6.0 as soon as I got it... then noted the dreaded battery draining issue even when in deep sleep. I got around it by optimising the apps (all of them) so that stuff that didn't need a lot of CPU use got only 2 cores and limited it to 50% max too. I also use ES task manager to limit/stop stuff when I know I'm gonna be using it for deep sleep times. I can now take it off charge in the morning, use ES task manager and put it in battery saver mode, go to use it 5 hours later and it is still at 100% battery, or 98% at worst :D

TBH I mostly use it in battery saver mode now anyway, as it doesn't seem to affect the performance of the tablet at all.. all I do is enable wifi and screen rotation and off I go, can still play the games I want to and browser etc, haven't found anything that's slowed yet.

They used to put real heatsinks on it, but found out some laptops will have clearance issues where the 2nd stick will not secure properly because of the heatsink, so they remove it and use a stickers instead.

Thats a same. Mine is in my desktop so clearance wouldn't have been an issue. I wonder if I can buy some and retrofit them.

I would just use a folded sheet of copper over them with proper insulation from the electrical bits

Not that I know of, some ITX board uses laptop rams, but most I've seen are server boards, so heatsinks to them are not important.

Thinking of buying a used silicon wafer for decoration ( i might have a strange taste , but i find wafers to be very pretty)

Especially considering you can buy 6-8" etched wafers ( what i am looking for) on ebay for less than 30$

Took a look at some pics and yes it is small, but the board form factor still allows standard rams to be installed. Too bad MSI decideds to use SO-DIMMS.

Yep. I dismantled mine on the day of purchase. Its very well packaged but like you said, ample room for standard memory.

I thought I'd get it with my new 980, but I didn't know it was limited to participating stores, and I guess I just couldn't wait to play it.

I don't often pay a game the full price, maybe once or twice a year.
