A small, though not exactly inexpensive, purchase for my recently acquired Grado GS1000i.....a pair of original Grado G Cushions replacement pads,

20150310_181740_zpsajgbxz4c.jpg

My GS1000i with the new pads, I must say, Grado's been overlooked, the GS1000i hasamazing highs (not edgy), great mids and vocals, and a very natural sounding bass.

Okay, so I've just stripped the cellophane off of this...(metaphorically speaking (I don't think it's actually got cellophane on it?))

I should probably stress test it more, so will prolly run some more valley and relax for a bit...

Woot_2.jpg

So basically that was what that empty plug was for...the illumination on the cooler

Makes me question at exactly what point the G1 becomes a regular card (for me to have previously received a B-Grade "standard overclocked" version with an empty plug? (okay, officially letting that go with this post   ))

Nope. Playing Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero on mine right now on my TV (my main monitor for my rig, for the record) with the blue DualShock controller that for some reason doesn't work with all my games.

No way  :D

I just bought an import copy of Tokyo Xtreme Racing Drift on eBay (I'm waiting for it to arrive).

Also, did you know the series got a release for the 360...Import Tuner Challenge ? I'm waiting for a cheap copy to come up on the auctions.

I first played it on the Dreamcast and it immediately went onto my must-play list.  :D

Edit: Not sure why that controller wouldn't work with everything?

I imported a phat PS3 to play my import PS2 stuff on but it cost a fortune and then it ylod'd and I'm yet to get it re-balled. :0/

Import copy? I take it it's all in Japanese?

And me neither. The black DualShock controller works great with everything, but it's beat up from being used with the family PS2 (this one is mine, and the spindle part for the CD is... Picky, and the fan is dying. You have to rip out the part the CD sits on, put the CD on, and pop it down again carefully. Too far and it rubs and doesn't do anything).

No no, I'm in the U.K. and it didn't get a European release. The one I'm waiting on is a U.S. NTSC version.

And the fan's dying? Isn't that a slim?

oooooooooooo I see.

And yeah. The Slims have one of the little blower style fans. Thanks for finally giving me a good excuse to stop playing, rip it apart, and dust the fan with compressed air and not my face. There wasn't much dust, but anything to help prepare it for summer is worth it. :P

Oh my god, I didn't even know it had one.

Also, yes, I've got a spare room full of broken phats that I'm supposed to be learning how to repair so I can reball my cecha01. I'm going to start off by re-flowing the boards in the oven to see if they'll work and are worth repairing)

I've got to stick a fan in the side of the thing as well (they just run so hot, it's crazy). Not sure if it was really worth importing (if I knew upfront the kind of hassle it was going to be trying to get my hands one and the upkeep I probably would have just stuck with a basic U.K. phat (but they can glitch because the emulation's software and not hardware like the cecha01?).

It was just $3.74 or something like that on Steam.  I bought it with Steam Cash I have earned over time.

header.jpg?t=1426180779

I then bought 2 copies of PAYDAY2.  Yeah still hoping to get more gaming sessions coop style with my son someday again like the old days.  I think this is a game he will play cuz it will remind him of The Joker robbing the bank in that Batman movie with Heath Ledger playing The Joker.  Oh and again I used Steam Cash earned.  Nice to get free stuff.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S
