Sony is the hidden gem of the smartphone world.  I cannot sing their praises enough.

The full name if you're curious is:
iPhone 7 Pro Max Mini Plus EX Flip Fold NEO 5G

Please don't tell me to update my phone.
I'm not updating my phone.

Congrats! Better than the old phone I hope? I really miss my Huewai (I can never spell it) Honor 8, had a nice camera with some great software features. I dig my Galaxy S8 Active for how rugged it is though and the larger battery. GF's Galaxy S8 is getting a little wonky, the GPS isn't working all the time and it freezes the Sync in her Ford up if someone hangs up on her, she has to hang up first. We're eyeballing the new Samsung A13S as a possible replacement, pending reviews at somewhere I trust like GSM Arena.

I really wish they'd start selling their phones in carrier stores. I work for T-Mobile and I'd love to be able to sell Sony's phones. At least it would be flagship that isn't Samsung, Google or Apple.

Quite a bit. 256GB of storage vs. 16GB, better camera, better speakers, quad-core CPU vs. dual-core CPU, iOS 14.2 vs iOS 15.0.2, possibly longer support.

Only oopsie I did was not realize that a 7 won't fit in an 6S case but that's easily remedied.

I actually kind of like that they don't.  As it is now, people with Sony phones have already distinguished themselves with discriminating taste.

Again if you read the posts. Im not the owner of the home. I have Zero ownership at least until my parents kill over. Hopefully by then Ill have my own place because Im done living in the city that has not a damn thing, no grocery stores, barley any restaurants, its nothing but trucking companies and warehouses. Also my Dad retires December 22nd, so they are now on a fixed income.

I've actually never owned a Sony smartphone before, but I've had friends with various newer Experia phones and I've really liked them.

From my short experience with the Pro-I I do like it more than my old OnePlus 8 Pro. I still have some things to figure out, but it seems like a really neet phone.

Brand new Asus soundcard.  Ordered directly from Asus:

Just WTF.

It's the first time I got directly scammed by a manufacturer.

Just in case you miss the issues:

  Hide contents

1. original packaging missing

2. driver, manual missing

3. accessories missing

4. even the bags aren't the original ones

5. PCB bend

6. one of the electrolyte capacitors is loose, probably due to shipping damage

7. shitty through-hole soldering quality

8. random screw taped to the back of the PCB

Looks more like a referb unit than new

With all the Trolls, Try Hards, Noobs and Weirdos around here you'd think i'd find SOMEWHERE to fit in!

Oh I understood you correctly.  I'm just saying that there's a whole world of fuckery out there when you do get your own place.  You'll never cover every possible contingency on a home inspection.  New builds can often have builders cutting corners and unforeseen problems that won't manifest until a few months into ownership.  Teething problems.  Had a grading problem in the yard that caused a house to flood in the first month.  That was fun.

Pre-owned homes are a crapshoot too.  Some will be well cared for.  Others will have the most jury-rigged stuff just waiting to surprise you.  Like a junction box 12" behind the drywall, and some lamp wire pigtailed onto it hanging down a hole in the ceiling where a boob-light was "mounted" to a bracket nailed onto a scrap piece of molding shoved into the hole & sitting on the drywall.

And there's no rhyme/reason corresponding to it; certainly not price/comps/price-per-sq-ft.

Quick chat with Asus support about this: We don't sell products like this. Only in original packaging and sealed.

Anyway to check the seriel number on the card and on the order?  You may have been sent the wrong package

iPhone 13 Pro Max 256gb in that blue colour. I don't exactly hate the colour, but it's not as nice as last years blue.

Got it as an upgrade on my phone plan, which was nice as this happened to my 11 Pro Max, hoping it's still covered under Apple Care. Which i'll find out tomorrow as my Apple Care for it expires in a week..

Alright more dumb purchases.

An *actual* 250GB Microsoft HDD. Only thing I really have to complain about is the fact that the trim around the perimeter is piano black instead of chrome, it just looks fuckin weird.

because why not have more thermal capacity in an m.2 Heatsink than the intel stock cooler?

Ooooh I wonder how it actually looks, I'm pretty sure that's a render.

The earpads on my DT 990 Premium wwere pretty worn out, and the headband was a tad sticky and flaking, so I'd ordered some replacements for them. Got them recently and had just gotten down to replacing the worn out parts....and tah-dah!, a pair of headphones that feels like new though it's far from it. The new headband makes it so comfy!!!🙂

The Omnidesk Pro 2020 that I'd ordered will be coming soon, will post pics of it.....I'd chosen the smallest version measuring 48" in length due to tight space constraint.

Picked up another ASUS RT-AC68U to use for a garage/workshop AP. I've had one of these (the RT-AC68R variant, which is completely identical) for several years now, and it's been extremely reliable for me. I use the one I already have as my main router/AP, but the position it's located in isn't particularly great for Wi-Fi in the garage. During the winter months I use the garage as my workshop, so better Wi-Fi is nice to have.
