Hell yes! I've wanted to get an X5690 for this Dell Precision T3500 for a few years now, and I finally decided to go ahead and do it. I paid only $40 for this CPU on eBay.

My Precision shipped with the higher end heatsink that has copper heat pipes running through it, so heat shouldn't be much of an issue. I'm looking forward to seeing how well this CPU compares in my usage to the X5675 it replaced.

Why are you making me want to experience Windows 8 again (the design wasn't too bad minus the start screen)?

Picked this upgrade up today, pretty excited. I am aware the motherboard may have issues with XMP, however I have been told it was fixed in the most recent bios update so I am going to try it out as I have always been a major fan of the Gigabyte Aorus line of motherboards.

I did it for months and didn't have any luck. Didn't check on it for a while then happened to put in for it today. A lot of it is overpriced and comes with crap parts(It's where the exploding Gigabyte PSU was found), but if you pay attention to what you'd be getting it's not that bad.

It's just the Newegg Shuffle, usually the first link that pops up in Google search. Only at certain hours of the day, generally 9AM-12PM PT (Pacific Time).

It's pretty luck based, It's how I was able to get my 3090 at MSRP. You just create a newegg account and enter into the shuffle at the times it is open, usually 9am to 12pm PT. Usually the higher end or more expensive combos/items are the ones you have more of a chance to get because not as many people enter in for those.

Also got a replacement Radeon R9 270 2GB. It's a Dell OEM card, but it runs decently cool considering the size of the heatsink. It also doesn't sound like a hair dryer, so that's nice. Here's a GPU-Z screenshot:

Just upgraded to lifetime.  They've got a nice 25% off going on right now.  Figured a lifetime pass would compliment my new home server.  Xeon W-1370 build coming soon...

Had a 6700xt, but wanted ray tracing. Managed to get a 3080ti that was overkill in the Newegg Shuffle, so I traded down to get a 3080, which I've been wanting for a year. This Aorus Xtreme is a mammoth!

I've had it for over a week, but I finally managed to get a replacement daily driver phone. It's a 128GB iPhone 13 Pro in Silver, and I'm very, very happy with it so far. It's been pretty difficult to find in-stock due to shortages in combination with strong demand, but I got extremely lucky when a store had one and copped.

Also, this took a pretty long time to settle due to shipping, but I finally managed to complete my ideal travel tripod; the Peak Design Travel Tripod in "Carbon F'N Fiber" paired with the Really Right Stuff BH-40.

Some old chips to upgrade my 6809-based single board computer from 1988. Was after the R6522, but easiest way to get one was a lot. Got another spare CPU in case I guess...

Plus a 32GB IDE SSD that will go in one of my old laptops, not sure which yet. Probably the Thinkpad X21 since I couldn't get a CF card to work with it, and since the HDD is 30GB I should be able to just do a direct copy.
