Some nice shots there. I give them an 8/10. Nice and clean.

Very minimal noise reduction for personal preference. 

Had a couple shots where the placement of the flares was more favorable, but focus on the subjects was missed. This shot was chosen because focus was the best.

A lovely burst of color. The solid white is a little overbearing, a bit of highlight reduction would likely clean that up a bit.

The out of focus highlights have an odd shape to them, which I thought was just because the lens was aspherical, but it’s not. Maybe it’s just odd character.

 

 

 

3 lovely blades. Shot on my Canon EOS R & AI-S 55mm F/2.8 micro-nikkor @ 1/250, F/4(I think?), and 200 ISO. It’s a higher ISO than I typically shoot, but I think it’s fine for this shot.

The highlights were clipped. I’d already cut them as far back as possible. Only place left for the highlights to go now is grey. A graduated ND would’ve been nice though. 

 

I have one shot where the fireworks aren’t concentrated in the one spot (avoiding a lot of the clipping issues), but the subjects themselves are a bit blurred. Even with a full frame camera, focusing in such a dark area is a challenge. Could probably prepare that and see if it passes muster to stick in the portfolio though.  I’ll come back and post that. 
 

The lens produces a swirling bokeh when shot wide open. You get the shape toward the edges and corners accordingly.  Stopping down a bit would prevent the odd shapes. The primary downside here is the prospect of shooting at 12,800 ISO. If 200 ISO gives you some hesitation, 5 digits would probably give someone palpitations.

 

It wasn’t as though the shapes were unexpected though. I was aware of this characteristic beforehand.

Here's the other shot. Focus is off ever so slightly however, though I prefer the distribution of flares. The girl on the right is certainly blurred. @The Blackhat

Fireworks and people are very hard to get into focus, typically you get one or the other. It's a nice composition, especially with children involved because you know they still view fireworks with a sense of wonder, unlike us jaded adults.

Ektar 100 is the totally wrong film for underwater photography in the middle of stormy seas, cloudy skys and swimming as fast as you can after Sea Beasties. 

But if it's all you got? Make it count.

Whale shark off the coast of Mexico. Nikonos-V 15mm f2.8 underwater lense, and swimming at top speed to get caught up to it.

You totally miss the shots you don't take, even for being the "wrong" film, it's still a fantastic shot, full of mood.

If you’ve a lot of ND, you can turn anything empty.

 

That lens group looks expensive. Instead of the usual rating, I’ll rate based upon dollar signs, with five being the best. You earn $$$$$. 
 

Did some street shooting with my 85mm F1.8. I barely missed focus on the subject (shooting from the chest seldom provides great focus unless you stop down), but I liked the composition enough to call it a keeper.
