What a beautiful collecton of Nikkors!

Where did you get these cogs? So steampunk!

Film always has a feel to it that I enjoy. Messy composition aside, it’s a good shot indeed.

Those cogs are actually my table. I use it as a backdrop. I’m a little constrained with angle a bit currently since the black boards I put up to cover the floor and behind where I shoot aren’t actually black, so if I shoot at the wrong angle everything turns grey. That’ll be fixed in a few days though.

very nice photo, I love how the chicken is in focus and staring right into my soul. overall, 10/10 would like to see this chicken again.

photo below is from an iphone 12 shot in raw using an app that allows for the changing of iso, shutter speed, etc. I looked for a vaporwave-esque sky look. It is edited in davinci resolve 17.

Well that’s quite the style! Nice image as far as all composition is concerned. I’m not sure if it’s just compression or what but it’s got quite a lot of color noise.

Playing around with my D100 some more. Quite interesting to experience my expansive collection of expensive Nikkors on this $50 DSLR I got that’s 19 years old. This is probably the best shot technically it’s taken in its entirely life. The dynamic range is crap and it’s about as sharp as a door knob, but it’s kinda sorta passable as a dedicated camera. Composition is quite messy lol.

Probably a combination of the conversion from .tiff to .jpg (and making it fit on the screen) and the ISO of 800, which was intentional, to add some grain to the shot. Shot with a Nikon D3x, but my normal work is fetish in a studio, (studio is ah closed due to covid right now) and toy photography with what I have on hand as far as lighting goes, is still all very new to me.

Funny you should mention that, some years ago I participated in a Colour Run (a 5k fun run) and wanted to take pics from inside the race, so I too picked up a 50$ D100. I fully expected it to die off due to the colour dust, but here it survived.

1215742502_NikonD100After.jpg

Also, how well do you find the Canon to work with an adapter to Nikon lenses? The exposure curve seems a tad sharp (compared to the other ones you've posted), but that's probably the limitations of a nearly 20 year old dSLR showing up

You would be surprised on what a non pro body can survive.

Both my old XTi and GX85 survive light rain.

Yes comp is messy.

I think my XTi is just a bit better iirc.

But yeah early 2000 cameras are barley passible.

They handle as well as my skills can keep up with them. So far my favorite style is definitely AI-s due to how ridiculous they are built. I have a few AF lenses and then some AF-S like my 80-200 AF-S (geez that thing is great), but I like the feel of the AI-s ones more, even though I tend to prefer the performance of the AF-S stuff lol. My 17-35 AF-S and 80-200 AF-S are some of the best lenses I’ve ever seen or used (for zooms, of course).

You can pick up adapters for Nikon lenses to the EF mount for about $10 on eBay, unless they’re rangefinder lenses in which case you’ll need a mirrorless for that, but those adapters also exist.

Forgive the image spam, I'm still trying to master toy photography.

Added another light (LED) and added a directional UV light for the overturned toxic waste barrel (the resin has glow in the dark mica powder added) to make it pop.

Still working with a friend who vapes, hopefully I will be able to get some dry ice this coming friday (the only place that sells it around here, isn't open on the weekend)

Also shot with ISO 100, instead of 800.

no AF it just hunts and won't lock, so its all manual focus, its not my lens and it doesn't get used much by its owner so I doubt they want to fix it

I also tend to avoid cranking sharpness in post

I have a big issue with sharpness on teles as well, but not due to lack of focus accuracy, because I can’t get the shutter speed fast enough and I shake far too much.

This was shot on a 180mm, then cropped in significantly as I was quite far away from the guy. Oh, I also refuse to ever use any post process sharpening. I have an LR preset that auto applies 0 sharpening on import lol.78168748-7055-43D6-9E13-F60D2612BA24.thumb.jpeg.5a1a40d68cfa0feacb3e0476b5f305e2.jpeg

It's a chainsaw IME, a little bit can produce fine work, but it's very easy to overdo it, and thus ruin the image.
