Nice shot! I think lifting the red details would make it even better!

This one is from a subway station in Kyoto last year.

Looks a lot like an entryway in the matrix1 in which a huge gunfight takes place. Apparently they had to make enough props to effectively rebuild it several times with various explosives under thin veneers of stone that of course destroyed the object when triggered.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

its not a stock photo... i promise anyways i  took a few pics around my neighbourhood.

Too one doesn’t look like a stock photo to me because composition isn’t a bit sideways. Stock photos tend to leave a lot of room around the edges for art directors to crop on. The bee one is right in there though. Maybe sell it to a stock book company.

Here is my new camera.

By my phone which I forgot my flash was on.

Flash may be happy accident.  Gives it a washed out old ektochrome look with the blue bag throwing color onto things.

I always resorted to tripods at night.  Slow film maybe. It’s really hard to brace for more than 1/30th.  Isnt easy even at 1/30th. Got to have a camera strap and do weird things with it.

I'll rate this a 6/10, for the lack of a real subject. No flower is really centered, or at least partly centered, which would've made it more like a focus on the flower. rn it seems like a weird crop of some image. (IMO pls)

Spoiler

So I recently went on a trip a month ago and really wanted to post some butterfly pics that I shot here, but held back because I thought @NinJake's photo was too good to be rated by me(a dumb person who knows nothing), So I thought I'd leave it for someone more experienced to rate it better considering how good it was.

So here's mine:

Nikon D3500, ISO 250, f6.3, 300mm

I'd give the first two of your shots a solid 10/10.

1st one: Dont know but some part of me really likes the soil.

2nd one: The blurred trees look pretty good! The lower part seems a bit empty though.

The bokeh effect seems perfect and I really like it!

For the third shot though, the fur near the cat's ears seem to have messed up a bit.. IDK, but they look weird to me. I'd give that one a 9.5.

People use it as some kind of card they pull when they can't actually respond to the criticism raised but they still feel like they need to defend some company/person. If you don't like this thread then stop reading it. See how stupid it is? It's basically like telling someone "shut the fuck up". It's not a clever responsive, it doesn't address anything said, and it is rude.

If you’re stuck with no car handy there’s a method using a camera strap wrapped around the camera and one’s body that isn’t so different from very old school sniper rifle stuff using a gunsling. There’s one for abound neck and shoulder and one for around neck.  They’re somewhat different elbows are involved iirc.  They have names.  Should be photos of it around somewhere.  One of the reasons camera straps seem so unnecessarily adjustable is so these can be employed.

Could be depth of field issue.  The bigger the lens opening (the lower the f-stop) the shorter the possible depth of field.  There was a thing called “the f-64 club” which is more or less pinhole.  Frequently infinite depth of field there.  Not a lot of light though so long exposures even in the daytime.

I have never used dulling spray nor do I know what it is. I assume based on the name and context, it removes shine from glossy materials. Well, I just use really well diffused light to reach that effect. I don’t use Photoshop, just some lighting or color adjustments in Lightroom.

Lightroom can do photoshop things.  You have dulling spray about right. Stuff was oily and could make a mess.  Needed to be cleaned up quickly.  Have to have some really good diffusion to not have shine on those. Occurs to me all the objects are flat so angles could be messed with a bit.  Dulling spray may be gone entirely as a material. It had limitations.  There wasn’t as much ability to manipulate images as there is now so one had to manipulate the subject itself.

Yes I know LR can do PS type stuff, I just don’t use it for that. And yeah, I have a bare bulb flash shot through a circular (I forget what it’s called) beam former essentially, that shoots through two layers of diffusing plastic, then up to a white ceiling where it bounces off that onto the subject.
