It's kinda frustrating...I have alllllmost everything needed to set up my 3090 + Titan Xp folding system to the point where I have Windows 10 LTSC installed and running. Buuuut I have to keep falling in the leaderboards because a bunch of watercooling stuff like the MO-RA hasn't come yet lol.

just run it from the tap?

I wish i could afford the power bills to throw my 2 980tis, 1080, and my 2 2060s, and an rx5500. Im running a 3080, 3070, 1660, 1060 6gb (though only in a gen 2x2 lane slot), and a laptop 1650ti. I also have tons of cpus i could throw in if electric was free. A 5600, a 5600g, a 2600, e5 2660 v2, 10 i5 4570s each paired with an rx550, a 4770k, a 3570k, 10300h, 2 e3 1270v2s and 2 i7 2600s. Maybe one year ill have the money to do it. I also have a few more trash level gpus sitting around i could use if electric cost was of no object. A gt730 and gt710, r7 250x, r9 370, r9 380, and an athlon silver 3050u laptop as well. I have too many systems lmao

Edit forgot my steamdeck i got the cpu cores working on for folding. Can get opencl drivers for the igp though

I'd be curious, with linux now having the fully certified Open stack of GPU drivers for the Apple chips, what somebody folding with those GPUs actually gets.  Sadly, I don't have access to an M series chip to try myself.

Apple Silicon is still very much WIP, OpenCL is not supported yet.

My understanding is they focused on OpenGL 2.0 then 3.1, and once Vulkan is fully functional all the groundwork will be there for OpenCL.  So its probably still quite far off as the focus over the next few months seems to be Mesh Shaders.

update on thread settings, I left it default and it seems that the amount of threads assigned is only changeable for the next WU or if you're not working:

My other machine went down.  If you are on Linux running an Ubuntu flavor, maybe Debian as well.  Do and update and reboot, there is something they pushed which is interfering with folding.   I think one of the core libraries changed, but an update reboot fixes it.

ran into this aswell. my machine was suddenly just not folding anymore, eventho it was running just fine otherwise. a reboot and apt update later and voila, back up and running!

800k estimated credit from a single WU on the 3090 is nuts:

I remember when I'd be lucky to get a tenth of that in PPD 8-9 years ago.

Yup, woke up to another rig with both slots set at "Failed" and stuck there for the last 6 hours. What I noticed last night was the Rigs that failed then were all running driver 535.129.03 whereas the Rigs that were still up were on 535.113.01 or 525.125.06 and one Rig on 535.129.03.

Guess What? The Rig that didn't fail yesterday evening that has 535.129.03 was the one that failed overnight. So all my Rigs running 535.129.03 have all failed within 12 hours of each other.

All started working again after just a reboot with no "apt update" required.

I'm going to keep running as is and see what happens but it looks like 535.129.03 might have issues.

I'd honestly expect a 3090 to be 1M credit given I'm currently seeing my 3080 predicting 820K, 4070 Ti 1M and 4090 1.4M.

Of course the key there is the 4090 is also a lot faster in completion time (while often using less power) which dramatically increases the PPD.

I already paused Windows Update for a month as well, although my Upscaler box is on 537.42.

I'm still very confused by these daily stats. The peak is 1mill.

Screenshotfrom2023-11-0413-15-15.png.67e0d780d5f9c6c1c926da980aff00ab.png

With two Tesla P4's and 112 threads the math says I should be around 2.6M PPD, F@H control at least says I should be around 1.85M PPD every day but for the past week why am I averaging barely over 500k? @Gorgon said something about it straitens itself out after a few days but that's not the trend I'm seeing...

are you seeing any downtime in your production? maybe time it sits idle waiting on a download or a server work ack?

Generally I find F@H often over-estimates WU credit.

Looking at Recent CPUs it looks like my 4090 predicted at 1.4M but got 1M while the 4070 Ti predicted 1M and only got 935K.  The Final credit estimates seem to be more accurate although I believe you continue to lose points as it sits in the queue to be verified by F@H, so you lose more if its a busy server.

eg the 2080 Final credit estimate, 219,619 was registered as 219,613.

My data shows that you are consistently around 600k PPD.

The P4 alone should be doing 700k+, something is off. Those CPU threads should also be roughly 1mil PPD

@Windows7ge I would suggest stopping all the CPU slows, use GPU-Z or some other tool and make sure the GPU is running at the 75W it should be and the GPU core and memory clocks are running at spec. Then check if output is around what is expected. After that look at CPU, same thing check package power and per core operating clocks.
