I don't think that the timing here is that amazing to be honest, I believe that she feard the community backlash so she didn't say anything publicly, since Linus lovers would eat her alive. Now, this might be different.

I agree, many times just because you are in the right or have legal ground doesn't mean its worth it to fight it legally. 

It cost money and time and sometimes you don't have either of the two. 

Most people saying "why didn't they take it to court" have zero understanding how it works in IRL. its not that simple.

just wait and see. Linus and the team are humans. Find someone out there with an impactful existence on this planet that has t done or said something wrong. 

 

if LMG takes any valid criticism on board, adapts to it and is open to more, then we can all move forward and forget this.

Common build advice: 1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticably improve performance past 240mm.

I'm a PhD student working in the fields of reinforcement learning and traffic control. PCs are one of my hobbies and I've built many PCs and performed upgrades on a few laptops (for myself, friends and family). The community has itself whipped into a frenzy. I hope this video does more to assuage the discourse than the pinned post in the megathread did. (Seriously, "There won't be a big WAN Show segment about this or anything"? If Steve's video was about any other content creator, it would be a headline topic.) 

 

I really hope Terren gets involved here. This whole controversy has laid bare some serious systemic issues that need to be addressed, and this is exactly the kind of situation you want an experienced, not-personally-invested CEO to manage.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

I'm watching the video and they put a sponsor joke in it. It was just a bait and switch, where they did the sponsor segway but didn't do an actual sponsor, instead just going "jk jk we not doing that".
