Well spotted, I guess it makes sense.

I will get around to testing the 4090 more thoroughly at some point, the last few days I've been really busy.

I got this yesterday:

IMG_20221026_050121.thumb.jpg.2bd0edd675eb833994bcb59d2a8a7569.jpg

Unfortunately those 8 pin pcie connectors share same traces and go to all 4 slots, so I need to run 4 cards off one psu.

It gets worse, it looks like the riser is also using power from the motherboard, so actually I will need to run 5 card of one psu.

This arrived 3 days early:

image.thumb.jpeg.c14869d2b47fd86c6bc05ef9182cfeae.jpeg

Just in time for me to get the rig up and running before the events starts, I must have done something to please the folding gods 😁

Sadly it's not working anymore 😭 it's a P104-100 mining card

I feel like liking this comment will put me straight to hell, but GOTSpectrum started it, so I guess it's fine? 🙃

But damn, that's still a nice card. Very unfortunate that it died.

Before I hit the "Spin up" button.,

Would a single P100 be better or dual K80s?

have you checked https://folding.lar.systems/ to see if he has data on those?

Yes,

It appears the P100 has two entries one for ~2.8M and another for ~1.7M.The K80 however doesn't have any entry, however from previous experience and some internet searching it appears to be ~350K per chip, of which single k80 has 2, so doing the math, ~1.4M PPD. Which makes the P100 the better deal (Since they both cost roughly the same), however, I want to make sure that there isn't any (sizeable) benefit to running dual-dual-chip GPUs as compare to a single one.

It wasn't me...though I'm still salty I signed up for the first one, but only in one place instead of 2 (signups were split for event and LTT event for whatever reason), so don't have the fun event founder badge.  😞

@GOTSpectrum Can you please confirm that we're using GMT (as listed on first post) instead of BST for this event like we have in the past?  It shifts things by an hour, so wanted to be sure before we start, so there's no question on the end of competition time. 🙂

Would that be using the blood to clean the card or replacing the TIM with it?

No wonder ASUS stock is MIA at retailers, even their own site is overpriced.
