I'm at 1.2b points. If I put my 3070 back in my folding machine, had my 2 M4000s going and added a 4090, I would hit mythic in 43.333 days

 

Edit: 38.2 if I turned my 6800 xt on.

10 kWh/d for the Euros in here is a small mortgage payment. 

Our predicted electricity bill is an extra £1000 for the next year based on last years usage.  Its why I figured spending £1700 on a GPU that I can throttle down and still get vastly superior performance, is actually a good deal.

I'm so close I can smell it.  Unfortunately my best machine is in the room I sleep in, so I have to turn it off and run the AC to cool the room back down.   I can't sleep unless the room is pretty cold. (though since keeping an eye on 4090 stock levels, or lack of, I don't seem to be getting much sleep)

It's tempting. But with my main machine going hard loop, I'd also be in for a water block as well. I've got a combined price that I would probably jump on them for. With purchases I have to do around the house first though it's going to be a couple months anyways. Gives time for RDNA 3 to be out and see how it does and decide.

Excuse me, my mind is not used to thinking about potentially having millions of points per day to spare in exchange for a bit more efficiency.

I just spread the load across the circuits in the house. I've thought about potentially using some solar power for my folding machines, but I don't know if I have enough room for that many solar panels...

If I add anything else I'm going to have to do that. The circuit for my living room flickers the lights when I turn my main machine on. I'm impressed at how it's holding up though. 2600w of power supply.

9900k, 3070, 2070, 1080x2, E5 2699 v4 x2, M4000 x2, a pair of cheap monitors and a lamp. If all three power supplies decide to full load at the same time it will trip.

I've got well over 4 kW worth of PSU capacity for my folding machines, but thankfully they're nowhere near fully loaded. Despite the load I've never had flickering lights caused by these systems.

On a side note. Of graphics cards being sold for parts/repair Gigabyte Eagles seem to be the vast majority of them, followed by the Gigabyte Vision cards.

I wonder where Gigabyte messed up with Ampere.

I'd absolutely not be doing this if the lights flickered, in fact I'd be getting an electrician out.

Alaska codes are....relaxed.... Really with a 15 amp breaker here in the states it only takes about 1500 watts to trip. They don't flicker the whole time. Turn a machine on and the lamp dims for a second then goes back to normal.

Interesting, I've been having issues with a Gigabyte RTX 3080. That's why I have it in the first place - it constantly crashes for the owner, and it gave me a BSOD a couple nights ago.

you have to remember we use 110 here and on some houses LIGHTING AND OUTLETS are on the same 15-20 Amp Curcuit (Would be a 7.5-10amp in yalls world of 220

Yeah but WTF?  That kinda implies the main feed is underrated or something.  I wonder if they factor in the colder weather and figure "meh, it'll be fine"?

Still the lights shouldn't dim much if at all when you turn something like a computer on.
