File Browser/Chrome/Steam on the first.

Skype/File Browser/Chrome/Thunderbird on the second.

That's all the program's I use a lot, cept Foobar which is macro'd to my mouse, but not on the task bar as I swap where it is.

Anything else I use on a semi-frequent basis like Putty, Filezilla, Afterburner, Keepass is pinned in start.

Yes i have itunes installed and I love it.. call me crazy if you must

Try Music Bee or if you wanna have even more customization try Foobar2000. I used to LOVE itunes because of the way it organized my music library but I switched to music Bee and it is the same thing with a lot more, you can even use your Ipod with Music Bee.

My taskbar is full... not at home so cant take a picture. Ill post my work desktop.

As you can tell I have Foobar installed but some of my music never showed up on it so I haven't used it since but did like the customization of it but I like things simple and easy to use so thats why im stay with iTunes

Everything I use every day so:

Opera, sparkIV, sparkIV for eflc, GTA 4 vehicle installer, steam, origin, uplay, Zmodeler, OpenIV, Chrome (as my YouTube is broken on opera and I can't be stuffed fixing it), Cleo v3,

so...

you browse the internet while photoshopping, in the meanwhile you sometimes type cmd commands, eventually taking notes on some notepads about the system options you're changing and your running processes and the pdf documents you're reading

but that leaves a lot of spare time, so you also decide to play some games and while you do that you want to make sure that you're well in badass mode, with 3 songs playing simultaneously in the background at the right volume that you periodically adjust

that's a very linear workflow

About right

Absolutely nothing. The only thing I ever really have in my Notification tray even is just the XAMPP control panel.

Just the default layout and then Chrome and Steam.  I only have the programs that I open most frequently on my taskbar.  And the same goes for my desktop, only one row of icons.

Wow it really disappoints me that how many people are using Windows 8 or 8.1.

Unless your using startisback or some similar 3rd party program then were cool.

Why does it disappoint you? If people were a little more open minded then they would see that after you spend some time actually learning the ins and outs that your productivity and workflow can be a lot more efficient.

Instead people just resort to knee-jerk reactions because it has elements that are so different from what they're used to.

You're still riding the Windows 8 hate train? Come on, it's not that bad! I left the hate train a long time ago.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

Eh, the Modern UI was not really designed for a traditional PC and is annoying to use and a waste of space, thats the reason why I use startisback+, gives you the benefits of win 8 with out the Modern UI
