Youtube adverts are too short.

Hi. The youtube ads are too short in my opinion. I try to use the toilet, make coffee or grab a snack and every time I miss the first minute or  two of the video I was going to watch.

 

I cannot go to the toilet for 5-10 seconds every 5 minutes. I need 10 seconds just to walk to the toilet. I dont have my computer with me on the toilet. Do you go on toilet that fast and that often? How do you use the advertising breaks on YT?

I hope you realize what can of worms you opened with this.

I find that with YT premium, there's no ads. So I just never go to the toilet.

Subscribing to YouTube Premium or blocking certain DNS entries for security reasons (which has a side effect of blocking certain ads) are 2 simple solutions to your problem. I'm not qualified to discuss more advanced medical procedures that may also resolve your frequent bathroom problem.

Not to introduce any novel concepts here but...

That's a thing. Could watch the ad, pause the video, come back, hit play. 

Not like it's live TV. The video will still be there when you come back

A year or who ago I had multiple/many 30+ minute ads on youtube. I even had a 2 hour long advert. But they where skippable. AND it remembered where I was.. So every time a advert came up it was just a continue of the previous ad that I clicked skip on whenever I was ready to start watching. I think it was a good system. the adverts became like videos spilt into many parts sort of.

I see no ads either with Sponsorblock and two ad blockers, all without paying for the "premium". Google makes enough from all their data theft.

Wait. That video was supposed to be a joke? I just figured that was the new bar for their advertising standards and they were testing it as part of a pilot for a new video series.

Why you just don't pause the video and go to the toilet.
