How much is old hardware worth. (Poll)

The other day I saw somebody selling a 1050 ti for $350 which is what prompted me to ask this question. With scalpers and mining (and covid) causing hardware to be impossible to find prices are no longer what they should be and are at a "how high can we go" level. So I want your thoughts on just how much old hardware should be, realistically.  I'll be listing a few different levels/generations and I want you to slap a price tag on each item that you think is reasonable to that hardware with it's level of performance and age. For now it'll just be CPU's and GPU's since if I go down all the hardware rabbit holes it's going to be a really long list. I had wanted to do a poll but that wouldn't allow for people to give a more precise. I was going to add performance is "X% of current gen hardware" but I didn't want to influence anyone's decisions. The list is kept to just some of the most prominent hardware to cut down on size. Also with the haphazard release cycle of some hardware there might be a extra variant or 2 here and there. If you're not going to participate, please do not feel the need to put your 2 cents in.

You can just copy/paste the list and enter the values next to the hardware.

Worth is just what people are willing to pay, so go through eBay sold listings and price around that.

Can you include Kepler as well for NVidia GPUs?
They're still supported by the latest NVidia drivers.

As for what's on the list:

Ryzen 5 1600X - $100

If Kepler GPUs are added:

Titan Z - $200

Titan Black - $175

GTX 690 - $100

GTX 780 Ti - $150

GTX 650/Ti/BOOST 2GB - $25

GTX 650/Ti/BOOST 1GB - $15

EDIT:
You're missing a bunch of chips - no mention of the R3 3100, the R5 3600, the R5 1400, etc.

As for this project, it's better suited for a Google Sheets that we can edit, but that you have backups of for the inevitable complete erasing.

anything below 3-4 GB is becoming less usefull, 4 can still work for VRAM for the GPU.

As with CPUs, don't know your situation, but can still find a decent amount of newer ryzen and intel ones so more or less "MSRP"/"normal" cost. 1080 ti is still one of the good older cards, being up there with 2080 ti, but less features and older design. some other Nvidia cards and AMD cards like some maybe listed above, is decent but not worth the high prices one sees around, unless you can get it for normal or lower price if needed or wait for the newer cards to become a better deal in the future (can take quite a while).

If Kepler GPUs are added:

Titan Z - $200

Before the graphics card mess Titan Z was between $275-300. It’s an odd case. It runs hot, it draws tons of power. If you force enable SLI in profile inspector (and it works for the title) it’s somewhere around a gtx 1080 in gaming performance. In theory you could mine on it, but unlike some alt coins you could do with a 780 you actually really can’t, at least not effectively or easily because the miner software gets all tripped up on the SLI over on single card and ram configuration.

If you actually could get one for $200 or less they’d be good stopgap cards if you don’t mind fussing with profile inspector since between power draw and odd implementation no miner is gonna even mess with it but it will get you into gtx1080 territory.

I do plan to get a Titan Z (or two), but not as a "stopgap" card.

Kepler cards are the only NVidia cards to support macOS Mojave and higher (and therefore Big Sur), and the Titan Z is the most powerful of the bunch.

Added to that most of the games I play do support multi-GPU or SLI, plus then I'd have 2 (or 4) decently powerful GPUs that I can use for F@H.

In case you couldn't tell, I really like Kepler, multi-GPU, and the Titan Z.

GTX 690 comes second because the 680 is not too powerful.

I got one from an EVGA B stock sale. Part of my work on my retro/specialty game build. I have better gaming cards but some issues present with certain games, the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. For example Gets odd screen tearing effects when panning side to side which don’t present on the Titan Z (and probably other older Kepler cards). I don’t mine on mine and didn’t intend to I was curious if it even would work with the setup. I doubt anyone is gonna sell one for $200, and even $300 will be a stretch these days.

Used hardware is only worth as much as what someone is willing to buy it for.

Yes it would be nice to say x is worth y. But if no one is going to buy it at y then it's not worth y, no matter how many people say it is

First have to define what Old is.

A 2700X isn't really that old. Have no idea why 90% of the hardware listed is considered old.

To me this looks like a list of what a lot of people in this forum would be using today.......

DFI UT Expert is worth quite a bit of money. That's old. and has value. hard to find.

Corsair XMS Expert DDR memory is old, worth decent coin.

This is what I would pay for second hand. The ebay prices would be WAY higher. I doubt any of the GPUs can be bought for less than 3x my value which is based on their REAL value. Anyone spending more than this is crazy. I don't understand how something worth $150 last summer is now worth $500!

It does vary region to region but I'm willing to bet 90% of the users on the forum are in america. So if people actually read the post and responded properly the data would actually be somewhat useful.

This isn't really new builds and planning, just data collection.

You would be wrong in that. Maybe 30-50% from US.
