Would you serve if you got drafted in World War 3???

Simple question. Americans preferred only. If this Ukraine Crisis causes WWIII, which ALOT of people are saying. The draft will occur because we don't have enough men to go against Russia. MILLIONS of us WILL die. WWII was bad enough already. Would you be for it? I for one would be against it. Its not in our interests and we would be shooing ourselves in the foot killing our men for no good reason. I would rather go to jail for 5 years then die to the hands of a Russian that probably doesn't want to kill an American either. The world is different now a days. Thanks.

well considering everyone has check the box when they got their license or government id, then yes all register Americans will be fighting in the war. you dont really have much of a choice. 

 

moreover, this russian, ukrain event is about as event full as the war on terror classified as opperation Iraqi freedom. the differences between russia and the united states is that the US in the constitution states that in a time of war we will not sieze land for our personal gain. what we have now is what we will keep. 

 

 

in the event of a war with russia and russia gets smeared russia may be reclassified when it establishes a new government with the help of american forces. but not america will not take russia as its own state.

Of Course i would i mean if you do not you would kind of be a coward for not wanting to serve your country even if you do not want to volunteer does not make you a coward but if you are drafted it is different story

Edit: I dont like war as much as the next guy but when your country calls, you stand up grab your gear and you fight. you do it because freedom isnt free.

That's your opinion and I respect it but... I would not want to fight for Ukraine's freedom or their honor. I will fight for Americas freedom. Which we have no business in the Ukraine-Russia struggle. Like I said to the other guy... would be way different if Russia came over here and started to mess with us in our continent.

obviously you dont know much about how a world war starts. I suggest you do some research on WWI and WWII and find the common things that is associated with world wars.

that is the thing, still you should be willing to put your life down for others no matter who they are even if you do not know them, and i do not think Russia is stupid enough to attack us on our own soil i mean we have only been attacked on our own soil a few times and they have either been terrorists or people who were trying to get us into WW2 or wars that were before we were a country

Go and fight while the politicians who made the "Ok" to start shooting sits snug in their congressional seats and watches from afar? I think not.... It highly depends on what the war is about, and I'm not falling for watered down propaganda. 

If I'm going to put my life on the line it'll be for my ideals, If I'm forced to go to war I'd only be there to make sure the guys next to me don't go down.

I do have ALOT of knowledge on world wars. Which is why I think this situation is VERYYYY dangerous. This seems very similar to WWI. We need a situation to start off tensions, Invasion of Crimea( or back in WW1, the balance of power in europe).. Then we need a firestarter... maybe that Ukrainian soldier that was killed today, maybe some sort of propaganda. I dont know anything is possible( Assassination of archduke Franz Ferdinand back in WW1) Then we have the alliances. USA, EU, NATO, Ukraine . vs. Russia and whoever else they have allies with( Allies and Central Powers in WW1) Lets not forget, the sanctions. Everything is set in stone. Its very scary similiar.. I just don't support it. Its not in USA's interest.

In order to state this in full respect, I myself, am enlisted in the US Air Force and will endure BMT leaving in six days. From there I serve with my country's wonderful soldiers in maintaining peace and balance. I have sworn to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States from Foreign and Domestic enemies. As long as I am fighting against an enemy of the states, whether they be a traitor, felon, or a wrong do-er, I will proudly take a stand in the issue at hand so that we can all live in peace and prosperity.

What if the threat at hand has nothing to do with being hostile to our Constitution and has little effect on our foreign and domestic interests(Interests of the common people).

I fully have the utmost respect to you. I was thinking about joining Airforce ROTC when I started college. It's just I really don't think we should have anything to do with whats going on over there. If a war breaks out. It will kill millions of us. This isnt Afghanistan or Iraq.. which I supported too but, Its another world superpower. God bless sir, I hope I didn't offend you.

I'm lucky enough to not have to worry about this as I can't join the military even in a time of draft. Catagorized as neurologically and physically disabled.

Lol we went into Afghanistan and Iraq looking for WMDs right? We never found em.... and it threw our economy off balance. 

 

Our trade relations with Ukraine aren't very heavy, and bringing "freedom" to them shouldn't be something we should be involved with seeing how their not yelling at the world to help them out. Were already considered the world police to many...  Well that's my take at least.
