Cyberpunk Horribly low FPS (3080)

After the recent drivers update my fps is ridiculously bad, I'm currently getting 38-40fps on average everywhere I go on the lowest settings possible. Turning anything up barely makes a difference and I can't reach above the 40s. Yesterday I had about 110fps on average.

full spec? also the game doesn't work with gsync for some ppl, use max frame rate, (3/5 ppl i know couldn't use gsync), 1 was getting 20fps, the other was getting 50fps of stuttering hell.

did you install the Game Ready Drivers? Check they've not locked your memory clock speed to something like 405mhz. This happened to me on my 1080Ti and I can't run anything at the moment.

have you considered using DDU and install previous drivers?

because that's what people usually do if a driver update messes up their performance.

also are you sure there wasn't a game update also because you're literally 100% CPU bound in this ss and I am doubtful it was ever playable in that state...

100% cpu usage is a no no. Check to make sure windows update isn’t running.

Yeah its running very poorly & there is no update, nothing going on in the background. I did a clean ddu so the old drivers are gone. This is happening on all of my games, always 100% cpu.

There are no updates, the only thing running is the game.

something is wrong...i would re-install windows or scan for malware and stuff...cause i have the same CPU and no games make it struggle i've never seen it go past 70% in games and this cyber game is like a 60% tops...im always GPU bound...granted i only have a 1080ti but i'm running medium/high settings with 60 to 75FPS and the CPU is not an issue like...at all.

so you are running into cpu bottleneck. try increasing the game settings. it takes the load off from the cpu so your fps might actually end up higher.

Ok that's weird, do you know if the cpu 100% thing also happened before the new drivers?

I mean it's unlikely GPU drivers increase cpu usage but stranger things happened!

Also the old drivers aren't gone, go to Nvidia site look for drivers, they're chronologically listed so you can just pick the driver *before* the last / current one...

Definitely worth a try before doing something more drastic like reinstalling windows.

also worth a try the weird thing op said they got ~100 fps before the update, so it's difficult to understand how there's a 100% CPU bottleneck now.

Yes I've always had this issue, I do play at 1080p but I don't see how that would cause it because I know other people w the same setup that doesn't have this issue. Also what do you mean about going to the Nvidia site? Reinstalling the drivers from the site?

It's strange because I just got on now and my frames are fine, not as good as they're supposed to be but they're sitting around 90-110, one thing I'm noticing however is they're dropping the longer I play the game, they dropped all the way to 50fps.

yes. for one you are not supposed to update drivers through GFE because it's known to make issues... and therfore should always go to Nvidia site directly to download drivers.

Tho, funny thing, I just checked, there doesn't seem to be an older driver available right now on their site (for whatever reason, probably they want as many people as possible to "beta test" the new driver...)

But then the go to alternative is always guru 3d, and they have the previous driver.

https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/geforce-457-51-whql-driver-download.html

Note it says 3060ti but also note it supports all other 30xx series GPUs... it's always like that, they only make one driver for pretty much their entire lineup (currently 10,20,30xx cards, maybe even 9xx)

So give this a try, don't forget to use DDU first, and see if it improves *anything* since you said you didn't have this issue previously.

wtf are you talking about?

gimme proof that this is a problem. never heard of this.. *ever*.

just make sure you update the drivers and try *increasing* the graphics settings. it will reduce the cpu load and increase gpu load.

Edit: also, try DDU and make sure windows is up to date.

this is a *known* issue since many years, people on here also never suggest to update through GFE...

If you don't even know that I'm not sure you should be giving any advice regarding GPUs tbh. Also what is up with the hostility lol. Wtf indeed.

I do have the same problem, but it was there even befor the update. My FPS even dips below 30 in crowded areas (45 without raytracing) at 1440p. I have unabled V-SYNC and even reverted back to the previous drivers... My computer is a brand new built aswell. I tried turning the setting at its lowest in main menu, but even then, I coudn't get pass 47fps in crowed area. My CPU is not even at 60% usage... I seriously don't get it. For comparison, I was just playing RDR2 at all max setting and I'm getting an average 80FPS in the benchmark section... Is it normal for my rig to have such bad frame rates?

I have a similar issue. I'm not sure what happened. I played the game last night and I could turn off RT and get 140 fps.

I have:

8700k at 4.8

3080

16gb ram

I can put the preset to low and get 72 fps and put it on ultra RT with balanced dlss and get 58-64.

No idea why my performance is so garbage.

I'm using gsync compatible monitor and running the gsync compatible mode. Is it bugged to hell or something?
