LTT Official Folding Month 2020!!!

Go to solution Solved by GOTSpectrum,

Luckily when I said it was almost done, I really meant it.

For the last time in 2020, ladles and gentlespoons, here a blog post.

And with that said, it's a wrap! Thank you for everyone getting involved, if you'd like to continue talking about folding why not head over to The Folding Community Board

So your setup isn't on UPSs? Brownouts can reset computers too not just outages.

I'm waiting a little bit longer before I ask about my return, or hopefully they call me back before then.

Nope, and i'm aware of the effects of a brown out

only Flrexo iZac and Calculon are on ups's here

Flesxo is on my "Network" UPS set to shut down as fast as possible.

calculon is on his own set to run aslong as possible.

Izac is on his own set to run as long as possible and when not folding lasts almost 2 hrs.

1070 series pricing are weird, tho the pricing is in line of power vs the 3070 so it is understandable for now anyways. Still go great gaming card.

I purchased my two 1070's for around £220 each. One is an EVGA SC edition, the other is FTW.

I'll start buying them when they hit around $200 locally and when I get disposable income to do so. They only burn about 150-180W ea based on my watt meter.

they really went up in PPD after the big CUDA update aswell.

i used to run one for about a year under water and it never went above 700K max. but now in @LAR_Systemsdatabase it's showing up at 1.1M!

It highly depends on the WU / Project to see the really nice PPD.

While the average the past 3 weeks has been around 1.1 mil you can see the dip 4-5 weeks ago where the WUs were just not fruitful.

image.thumb.png.ae8d04a89777eb661465c3b562e53e4b.png

Table with all the projects at the page bottom so you can see the vast difference between top and bottom of the list in terms of PPD.

Best average project covid-19 17405 1.25mil... worst average cancer 16920 705k,

To answer your question someone who is hitting 1.3M consistently is likely OCing it, or very lucky in WUs

The PPD for a 1070 with those cancer WU's isn't "great". Still get over 1.1M. The numbers are coming from the covid WU's.

Yea, I'm doing mostly covid, I've not gone over 1 million but then again it is powering 2 monitors plus whatever I'm doing. Tho anyone getting more than 1.1M is more than likely OCing the card, I would but even tho we are going into winter here a possible fire is a little too hot and destructive for me.

We wont see any severe snow until the event closes lol. So much for subterranean cooling.
