Which kind of person are you? A headphones or speaker kind of guy. I'd rather spend my money on headphones because I'm not about other people listening to my music or being annoyed by it.

My music taste is a little too weird, so I much prefer to use headphones instead. I can turn it up much higher too.

Same. I honestly cannot relate with blasting your jam on speakers at full volume for everybody to hear one bit.

You can make a poll though on your post, so you get a clearer idea of how many people prefer one versus the other.

Speakers. Speakers are simply WAY more comfortable, it's not even a contest. Sure, I'll wear headphones if I'd otherwise disturb my hubby or if my hubby would be disturbing me, but I'll use speakers if I can.

I only use headphones if I'm using my mic, if the mic isn't being used its speakers

I'll drink to speakers.

Way more comfortable, soundstage is 1000x better.

One huge advantage to headphones is the cost is much lower.

One huge advantage to speakers is the fact that we have proper surround. I master in 5.1/7.1 sometimes, and having binaural headphone surround just does not cut it.

Another advantage is you don't look like this:

Always makes me giggle. And I own a pair of the things.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

lol high end headphones always make me giggle  with the ones that look ridiculous like the heddphones like I buying this for over 2 grand might as well make it look good while it's on my head. but they are sound engineers not fashion designers.

I think McIntosh is kinda like Focal. Design an amazing sounding product, throw it in an amazing looking enclosure and call it a day.

Personally, I think most speakers look gorgeous.

You have the typical, circles on wood box:

Focal Aria 906 Bookshelf Speakers - Prime Walnut Veneer: Amazon.co ...

Then you have the things like my Adam Audio's:

I actually like headphone as it gives more privacy and can cancelled out noise to a certain degree (and don't get me started on the sound quality because of the noise cancellation feature), but my ear will get sweaty after 20 minutes usage and will get quite uncomfortable. Too bad. So I have to go for speakers.

I apologies if my comments or post offends you in any way, or if my rage got a little too far. I'll try my best to make my post as non-offensive as much as possible.
