Should i buy Ryzen 3 or GTX 1050 TI?

I've got a pretty crappy computer, my computer has an intel celeron G530, 8gb ram and no GPU, just using internal. So should i buy a GPU like a 1050 TI or a ryzen 3 which has intergrated graphics and has 3.6 GHz. Unlike my current 2.4 GHz? Which would you guys choose?

what budget are you on?

 

id say upgrade the cpu to a 3200g

Where are you located, and how much can you spend? It's likely you can build an entirely new PC with used components, something like an LGA 1155 Dell Optiplex and a used RX 470.

My budget is around £150, and I am located in england.

You can't just switch to Ryzen.

You need to buy the mobo and ram too.

If you only have budget for the GPU, go with that first.

The graphics in 1050ti is far superior than any Ryzen integrated at the moment.

Better get a used RX570 or RX580, there's loads of it in ebay.

However what is your psu? Most likely it is by no means good enough to handle a rx570 or 580 since you have a celeron.

Hmm. This could be a start actually, see if you can find a Dell Optiplex with an i5 and 8gb of RAM for around 75 GBP on ebay. Spend the other 75 on a used rx 470 or 570. 

If you don't want to deal with buying used hardware (completely understandable right now), save 75 more and get this -

Should run stuff at 1080p medium fine. Your first upgrade is a storage drive for games (you can only install 2 or 3 at a time with 120gb of space). 

Your second upgrade is a discrete GPU, probably still an RX 570

find some sandy bridge/ivy bridge (2xxx/3xxx) rig on gumtree for 50-70, and slap in a low-power 1050ti (again, from ebay or gumtree) for 40 bucks. That'll be a good way to go with that budget

mhmm, recommending a 570 here is not a wise idea. Prebuilts would come with crappy Psus, making a used 1050ti/1650 card a better idea. Also, yeah, that build just won't do, better to go used

I would rather look for a used cpu like the i5-2400(IF the motherboard supports it) for £20-30 and spend the rest on a gpu like gtx1050/1050ti or 1650/1650S, why buy a Sandy/Ivy Bridge PC when you already have one?

Or start a fire with and RX570/580 with molex to 8pin PCI-E so that you have a reason to buy a whole new pc.

hmm yes, but the sad part is that it's almost impossible to find a good sandy/ivy chip at reasonable costs these days, whereas you could find 2400 rigs by the dozen. Still, the OP must first look for a 2400/2600 (3770s too, if you can find em), and then go for rigs

What model computer do you have? If it's a dell Optiplex, most of them are compatible with a standard PSU, so you could add a nice power supply and get a pretty good graphics card.

What are you on about? I said the 570 was the second upgrade to make to the build I suggested, not his current PC. The first upgrade, again, like I said, is a mass storage drive, to have more than 2 or 3 games installed at a time.

For several reasons right now, people would rather spend an extra $50 or $75 to buy new rather than used. Ebay is in the middle here, since you don't have to go interact with sellers in person, but finding good prices on Ebay has been difficult recently.

@Orika the CPU you have is an LGA1155 Celeron, so check if the motherboard's power connectors are standard. I would look at something like an i5 3570 or an i7 3770, a new PSU (that Kolink classic power unit I recommended isn't bad) and a used 470/570.
