Hello guys !

I've just joined the forum to talk about my case : I followed this Tier List and bought a Corsair HX1200 80+ Platinum.

I've received the unit and tried to install it. Worked once, then MOBO not POSTing, stuck on CPU led. Tried minimal install.. etc nothing works. Tried for 20 hours in 3 days.

Anyway, I found this link What to do if your system does not power on when using an HX1200 or HX1200i – Corsair from the official Corsair Support Website. (I searched similar cases for 3 hours on internet and finally I got the answer: my unit is in the range of non-working unit).

If you got the same problem, just open a ticket and ask to replace your unit. Hopefully they'll answer. Do not try more to get it to work. It won't.

I opened a ticket on the December 28th, 2020. Still waiting my advanced RMA on January 5th, 2021........ I said multiple times on the ticket that I needed it ASAP. But they don't have any HX1200 in stock, and offered me an AX1000i. I said yes but that's now 3 days that I'm waiting an answer.

Paid a premium PSU 300€ to get a non working out of the box unit. GREAT.

On the top of this thread, it says:

There's an entire PSU forum and this thread is about the tier list.

A mod needs to come in here and clean this stuff up.

I'm just putting the answer to my problem here because I took 3 hours to find it and I think other people will find it here more easily. I know this PSU is good and it deserve a good place but that's just a feedback on the psu.

On the contrary.  It will get buried.

Thanks for sharing, i wasn't aware of that but as Jon said you'd better open a separate thread for better visibility for people with the same problem (although when your PSU refuses to work the first thing you should do is to ask support and you'll get that info anyway). Then you could still ping me or Luke.

When i build my current PC, without knowing the existence of this forum, I bought the Aorus AP850GM 80 plus Gold 850w. My current specs are:

10850k stock with MCE enabled

Asus Maximus 12 hero wifi

32gb 3200mhz Cl16

PNY RTX 3080 reference stock no OC

2x 2tb nvme m.2

Upon seeing that the PSU is categorized as Tier B, I'm beginning to doubt my choice. In so far, I have not run into any problem with my system aside from 2 times CTD on cyberpunk.

Do you think i should forgo the unit and change to one of the Tier A PSUs?

Ok, I know I complained about the formatting before - but I do understand it's not easy with so many items... but I have to ask...

what does =>

even mean lol.

basically, let's say I just bought an Enermax Revolution D. F. 650w, is that a tier A unit now or not...?

(since it's missing any wattage figure, I'm left to guess, besides "=>")

The "=>" means "equal to or greater than" the wattage that is written after it. Also, it's for the PSU listed before it. So the Platimax D.F 750w and higher are Tier A. The hyphen separates the listed PSUs too, so the wattage does not apply to the Revolution D.F. (also the wattage would've been colored alongside the PSU it is referencing)

Ah, equal or greater, yeah ok that makes sense but I wasn't familiar with this sign... thanks.

So that means the Revolution D.F. is tier A, *regardless* of wattage?

Otherwise it wouldn't be up there, obviously (I'm just confused by the lack of wattage I suppose, and the price... only 90 euros...)

Yes.

I see. well, I actually canceled the order as I've learned what the "DF" thing is... it's actually threatening to blow dust *into my case* every time I turn it on - seems really short sighted and misleading to call that "dust free" when it basically accomplishes the opposite.

Also I read reviews on Amazon, the failure rate seems gigantic... (yes, I know, Amazon reviews, but it's really apparent in comparison to other PSUs...)

"very good power supply, for 3 months" seems to be the consensus.

(also I've learned it has a short lived fan and high inrush current...)

I don't think so.

How is the address similar?  Newegg is in Rowland Heights and the importer for Arsegame in on Rowland Ave.  But they're in completely different cities.  :D

I am looking to build my new Workstation in the Cerberus X case, (hopefully) featuring a next gen threadripper and two (or 3 if possible) RTX3090 (the ones from PNY). So I am looking for a compact, very powerful PSU and I came across the Silverstone DA1650. All reviews are good, and Linus uses it in the pyramidal PC. Why is it in the C tier in this thread ?

It was tiered there temporarily due to no reviews at the time and similarity to Sirfa #800 platform which had problematic OTP, now when there are review from Aris (from October actually) it will be moved to tier A and it looks like even marked gold.

Hi, I have a question. Is a black colored RM850x the same as a white colored RM850x? I'm asking because I see (White) written next to the RMx units in the thread's tier list.

By black, I mean this one:

Hi, I have a weird question. I've been running my system with an XFX Pro XXX 650W Bronze PSU, which was originally in Tier B, I believe. I upgraded my GPU to a 3070 last month, but when checking the tier list again, I saw that the PSU is now on Tier C. Does that mean that it's now dangerous to use it with my 3070?

Sorry for the weird question and thanks in advance.

I upgraded my GPU to a 3070 last month, but when checking the tier list again, I saw that the PSU is now on Tier C. Does that mean that it's now dangerous to use it with my 3070?

Sorry for the weird question and thanks in advance.

While I wouldn't use it for a 3070 personally, it should be fine. I think you might've seen the tier list back when there was a B+ tier. They changed it since then. All S and A tier were merged to a single A tier, B+ became B tier, B tier became C, and, C and D were merged I think (if Luke or someone else could correct me on that, please do so)
