Does it have to be an Nvidia card? RX 580's are cheap and great for 1080p

Otherwise, I guess a 1660 or whatevers used around you

vega 56 from ebay (or used 980 if you must go with green)

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

You don't escape that by going with another brand

Well for gaming purposes i would say Nvidia wise that their x7xx from their latest series is usually the only way to go..
it is hard to answer your question since were only at the beginning of 2019

My titan has coil whine and gets plenty hot, you're not avoiding anything by switching brands.

980ti's can be found for as cheap as 200$ USD. I picked up 2 of them for 180$ per card.

They can do most games on max settings. IMO best "budget gpu" for 1080p

RX 580 for $190. If you’re buying Nvidia on a budget, you’re doing it wrong.

AMD Cards don’t die or artifact. Did you ever pay attention when brand new 2000 series Nvidia Cards were literally dying and artifacting?

So you are using a single physical version of a single example of a video card design for a single type of GPU from a company and extrapolating the information to any GPU designed by that company.

Pretty sure that was a memory manufacturing issue anyways. But they also said why the specifically don't want a Radeon card anyways.

I understand that, but OPs reasoning is irrational.

It's a per user situational issue. OP probably has had bad experiences with AMD gpu's.

Get a used 1060 6GB, or a 1660 if you want a new card and can spend a bit more.

Actually I was about to create a topic on this. I wasn't sure if the 1060 was still relevant and how much to spend on a used one.

I think either a 1060 or an rx580 are both great 1080p cards, but it depends and sometimes you can find good deals on a used 1070 also.

I like the 1060 better because of the low power consumption. What would you consider a good deal for a used 1070, now that the lineup has been refreshed?

*looks at good-as-new HD7970 GHz edition @ 1.11GHz* Yeah, the problem is quite simply that some manufacturers use a rather bad batch of components, or simply a shit design. And I know for a fact that both AMD and Nvidia have taken flak for mistakes made by AIB partners.

That HD7970 BTW is made by Gigabyte, just like my GTX 970 (and 650ti 2GB). And while it performed well my 970 ran as just hot (and a lot louder) than the HD7970. Because the fans themselves on my 970 were terrible as Gigabyte changed their supplier.

New, pretty much around $20 less for a 1070 than a 1660ti. Second hand, I'd expect around $200-$250 USD. Mine (which was second hand) cost me $352 AUD, which I was fine with as my (kind of bad) GTX 970 cost me over $550 AUD, right after its launch.

I've had my GTX 970 choked at 1080p by it's 4GB of vRAM (3.5GB depending on the game)....also the games your mentioning don't push systems that hard. Especially Simcity 2013.....

Well uhhh what can i say, i do like lara's new looks, love her new ass waist ration but the gameplay.. nah … I is adult so yea beat blades haruka, Sakura's dream though my 1050ti is even better suited for those jobs... I wouldn't call Total War Warhammer a game that is easy on the system... Most 4x type of games with a definitive endgame hype ( huge armies, multiple conflicts on global sized map different opponents ) can surprise their owners in a very special kind of way. I just took a glance through Epic's store current offering and i'm sure i could use the 1050Ti for all games displayed without to much visual displeasure and or game sorrow
