Ultimate Dream Build For Free (Hypothetical)

if money was no object my starting point would be a quad socket supermicro board.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

and what exactly is the problem with DX 12/Vulcan and 6th Gen intel CPUs ?!

Honestly, no idea why i didn't go that root, i'm ashamed

But it's not a real- but you can change- but the word is route- AAGH!

Tip to those that are new on LTT forum- quote a post so that the person you are quoting gets a notification, otherwise they'll have no idea that you did. You can also use a tag such as @Ryoutarou97 (replace my username with anyone's. You should get a dropdown after you type the "@")to send a notification, but quoting is preferable.

Feel free to PM me about absolutely anything be it tech, math, literature, etc. I'll try my best to help. I'm currently looking for a cheap used build for around $25 to set up as a home server if anyone is selling.

If you are a native speaker please use proper English if you can. Punctuation, capitalization, and spelling are as important to making your message readable as proper night theme formatting is.

My build is fully operational, but won't be posted until after I get a GPU in it and the case arted up.

There's no problem with them. The point is that in DX11, you want few strong cores, but in the new APIs it won't matter much anymore, the total floating point and integer performance is what will matter, no matter how many cores it comes from. (Given that a GPU can take advantage of it, which there currently isn't)

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

I know, witch is exactly the opposite of what you suggested with Xeon and X edition bro, newer architectures are and will keep on getting more and more optimised for this concept, so a 36 Core Xeon will be be pointless

If there is no budget, implying you have a ridiculous about of capital, then why not just go completely custom? You could have a specialty motherboard, processor, case, etc. Go nuts with graphene and carbon nanotubes, phase change, noise absorption, etc.

If you going based off of preexisting parts, then that changes everything. Another important matter is power. Is this based on 120v, 240v, 480v, etc? How many amps does the breaker support? How many outlets within x vicinity are tied to a breaker? Wire guage? Ability to have another line dropped (added from the grid to the location)? Residential, business?

Yeah, I know a bit of this is outside the scope of imagination. Sorry.

What? You can leap 10 years into the future and still not have a consumer 4-core chip that'll outpower a 24 core Xeon of today in DX12.

This and then a custom loop would be epic.

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

Do this:

And make sure you do it by hitting the quote button at the bottom left of my post, and not the one inside the editor!

Or this:

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

I was thinking about what the most insane PC could be and realised it could be the idea for the next compensator build-

Dual Xeon 2699 V3

Quad Quaddro K6000

1.5 TB DDR4 ECC Memory

Supermicro MoBo

3 Intel 750 Series PCIE SSD

10 Samsung 3.84 TB SSD.

What do you guys think? What could be more overkill?

they have to actually use the stuff, and they won't get K6000s (or M6000s).

compensator is not trying to throw as much money away as possible (otherwise: 4 socket 7000$ xeons here i come)

So, I was on pcpartpicker and was trying to bring together your recommended build and it came around $80,500 with only two quadros, no cooler, and no psu (There was no psu in the list )

But what's the problem in Linus building it? He can get all that stuff for free and later return it if it's just for the video.

What is the main thing you would do if someone handed you this PC build? Only rule is you cannot sell anything. I didn't include a mouse or keyboard as everyone has their own preference.

I am asking this to get an idea of what the point is of having something like this is?
