Why in the hell would you buy all that computer, the tack on a crap ton of external storage (when the PC already has over 100TB of storage), AND a laptop? Seriously dude? The thing is beyond excessive for anybody, but that stuff really tips it over the top.

Uh, yeah. Because in the real world where big boys spend real money, $1.00 is enough to go over budget and cause a project to get canceled. Considering I work with server grade hardware for a living and budgeting these things is my job, yes. I care.

You asked in general who would buy it. If it were meant to be a joke it would be in off topic. Someone who has no idea what he wants but hates his money really really hard. You paired game oriented peripherals and parts to a core system that is only good for being a render farm or a server, plus an assortment of random stuff that I assume you put there only because it was the most expensive thing you could find as well as... a laptop... that has nothing to do with the rest of the system...?

We get a thread like this almost every month, with a new user thinking it's cool and original to see how much money you can waste if you pick all the most expensive stuff on pcpartpicker and then making a dedicated thread on it when it barely deserves a status update.

64 bit operating systems can easily deal with one or two TiB of ram. The power consumption is also not as high as you think, as a rough estimate I think you'd need about 2000W and there are power supplies that can provide that. Besides it's not unheard of to have multiple power supplies in a system.
