  Back when I played PSO ep1&2.

Played that on Dreamcast, Xbox, PC, and Gamecube.   On the Gamecube alone I have a character with total 8,000+ hours.  Yeah, I played a butt ton back in High School of that game.

The only games i've spent my time more than 1000 hours is Adventure Quest World Online.

Played it since 2011 and finally retired last year and give it to my close friend.

I played it like 5-7 hours a day everyday so 6 hours x1825 days =10950 hours if i did the math right cause i sucks at it hehehe

I wish I had logged the hours that I played on an MMO called Need for Speed World. It might have been close to passing the 3.5k hour mark. And my account on that game was 5 years old.. My friend said he spent close to 7K hours on his account for that game and way over 10k hours on one of the Final Fantasy games.

Yeah, here is the kicker, I have the Gamecube with dail-up modem in it.     Talk about lag when playing on EU and JP servers back then.  Especially if someone started to spam the GigaFoie spell on the ep2 map with water.  O boy, would it lag hard.  I think I can still pull off the dumping trick in that game too (what was funny, that trick started on the Dreamcast version and was still able to do even in the Gamecube version - Sega was not good at bug fixing).

Speaking of LAG it reminds of those special weapon on AQW called "The Ungodly Reavers Of Nulgath" Sometimes called "The Lag Maker Of Nulgath" because it has too many animation for a single weapon so if someone equip it the whole player movement in the same ROOM becomes incredibly laggy and they will start to yell into each other  till the devs fix it and reduce the animation on that weapon.

hhhh...those were the days..

LoL, there was modded weapons in PSO ep1&2 that hackers made PC side and manage to bring console side (don't ask me how, the process was nutty when I tried reading up on it back then).  There was this gun they modded to shot grenades (yep, grenades).  It would shot machine gun style and lag the crap out of the game to the point sometimes you could disconnect people.  There was some other wacky hack mod weapons too.  I think I still have some of those since I found it fun to try to collect those off peeps willing to do exchange for the weapons.  I never used them online during serious legit play.  Pretty much fool with those offline or with friends in a lock online game room.

 

But yeah, back then on those old MMORPGs be a whole bunch of nutty stuff going on in the games.

One issue is that you will never be a master at everything that requires constant learning. I would not call someone a master at being an astrophysicist because they're always learning something new. Or if you've been playing video games for 10,000 hours, someone might still teach you something you did not know. 

 

But then I guess we'd have to define what being a master at something is.

This theory doesn't come from your teacher it's from Malcolm Gladwell's "The Outliers" I recommend reading** it, it provides much more depth into why and how this theory can hold true.

Well I defined variables to adjust for other people to use them for their own calculations. Seeing as school times can differentiate.
