Linus's Disturbing Trend to Clickbait

As long as there's actual content inside the video or article, i don't c what the thumbnail is. Everything I've seen of theirs from CES has had a title related to the content inside. Sure the picture might be silly, but that's Linus.

That was what I assume. Especially channel like LTT that have a huge sub base. Youtube might "require" the content creator to adjust their video style or even do certain things. For example like: using a "catching" title, or something like that. I remembered read something about youtube nowadays actually is going back to their old style. Using click bait to generate more clicks , so that the ads are gonna be played a lot more time. Which means their revenue is gonna go up. And google is still claiming that youtube as a platform and a business they owned have YET to make a profit. So, 1st youtube tried this click bait strategy, then changed to the more subtle approach, now it changes it back to click bait. Cos no one like to own a business that is constantly losing money.

Yes. Some of his vids are fair. No doubt. I like his approach in the 2016 macbook video, although I do not agree with him. That's not the point. But I think that Linus and the LMG groups also aware of all the "problems" that we mentioned. And yet to find a solution to change it. Those big sponsors can easily influence big channel like LMG through contract or money or something else. I just felt like the whole LMG group changed from a few people who have the same dream and same target and working together to a mini version of big cooperation. Like those little start-ups, at the beginning it was always fun and you voluntarily put in huge amounts of hard work to "keep it going" and "make it work". Then it worked. Everything clicked. Everyone is happy, you have this huge satisfaction that make you smile everyday. Then slowly but surely things changed. Politics happened in the office. When dealing with huge amount of money people changed. And someone started to find someone else to blame. Then people started to fight for their money, their piece of cake, fight for power. Then the whole thing changed. Everyone felt it, but no one dare to speak up. I felt that LMG group is at this stage right now. And probably everyone is working overtime everyday...

Is it just me or you guys have the same thought, after they moved to the big warehouse, (a.k.a after the moving blog they did ) the video quality decreased a lot... I mean it was not like day and night, but it was going downhill slowly. Then it becomes cheesy ad for sponsors and "trying to be funny " vids with click-bait thumbnail and etc.....

in real life money is power its sad to say this but its true. ltt has handled the change better than almost every youtube far as i see the content is not biased. if you want to see a sellout youtube search  un unbox therapy.

Yeah, I unsubbed that one looooooooooooonnnnggg time ago. And just look at that channel now. Look at their host. See how his looks changed this few years. That's the thing what I am talking about man.... Those fame, money and power destroy people over time.

Linus is trying really hard. And he had his wife and his whole family behind him who are supporting him. God bless him. All those things had nothing to do about how I felt about his video though. LUL. And I don't like them videos....

I said disturbing trend. So far he's avoiding it, that's a good thing, and there are a few there (like I said that upgrade your laptop with the splashing water and Hazard suit is complete clickbait, all Luke does is throw in an SSD which they've done 5000 times to computers). I'm getting pretty close to unsubscribing. I used to watch every video they upload but now I don't even click on the video anymore if it has those thumbnails and they are starting to get annoying to see in my feed.

Kinda reminds me of the "like this video if you want to see X or Y" period.  Luckily they stopped doing that, so let's hope they can find a way to stop with this clickbait nonsense too.
