  • A business in Canada is offering a job and 2 free acres of land if you relocate

    • The Farmer’s Daughter Country Market in Nova Scotia is offering this

      • Because they need workers, and there aren’t any available in the village of Whycocomagh, located on Cape Breton

      • In a Facebook post, they stated: "We can't give you big money, but we can give you an awesome life," the Facebook post reads. "But we can offer you a great incentive to come and try us out. One thing our business does have is LOTS of LAND."

    • Rules barred data throttling and paid fast lanes

  • Trump administration may mean Obama backed net neutrality rules get “challenged or weakened” going forward

  • Trump’s fellow Republicans have criticized the rules

    • In 2014, Ted Cruz called net neutrality “Obamacare for the internet”, claiming it would slow down private sector innovation

  • Dish Network CEO Charlie Ergen said that he expected “challenged or weakened” net neutrality rules in the future

GoPro Recalling its Karma Drone

  • Approximately 2500 Karma units sold since October 23rd are affected

  • GoPro says “in a very small number of cases, Karma units lost power during operation”

    • There haven’t been any reports of property damage

  • Recalled Karma drones can be returned to GoPro directly, or returned to wherever they were purchased for a full refund

  • Working with the Federal Aviation Authority and U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission on the recall

  • GoPro suggests that the Karma shipments will resume as soon as the issue is resolved

  • Starting next year, new Tesla buyers will have to pay

  • As of Jan 1, 2017, anyone who orders a Tesla will get just 400kWh of free Supercharging credits per year

  • Tesla hasn’t revealed how much it will cost after that limit

    • But says the “small fee” will be cheaper than buying gas

  • People who ordered their car before this date still get to charge for free, for life

    • This doesn’t count the 373,000 people that have put down the $1,000 deposit to reserve a Model 3

  • Vanilla World of Warcraft server is returning under a new name

  • Nostalrius went offline back in April

    • Following a cease-and-desist letter from Blizzard

  • The team behind Nostalrius is going to release its source code and additional tools to the community

    • Beginning with another private server that intends to review Nostalrius in all but name

  • "The source code will be first given to an existing Legacy project which we believe to be the most in line with our core values, named Elysium. This server shares the volunteer spirit and passion for the game we had. Furthermore, an important part of Nostalrius volunteers are already working there, some under different names.   • Chronos 1.4 is the brainchild of engineer David Kronstein

  • Kronstein lists the pre-production camera features to be the following:

    • 1.4 Gigapixel per second throughput

    • 1280 x 1024 at 1050 fps

    • Lower resolutions at higher speeds

    • 8, 16, or possibly 32GB RAM

    • Storage on SD card, USB drive, SATA hard drive

    • Raw video saving

    • No PC needed for operation

    • AC Adapter or battery (1.75 hour per charge)

  • It’s now unlikely new solar power systems will ever pay for themselves as a result of Lafayette Utilities Systems (LUS) new solar tax, in Louisiana, USA

    • They are phasing out Louisiana’s solar tax credits

  • This past August, local electric utility company, LUS introduced an anti-solar power policy with no public input

    • New rate structure for current net metered customers

      • Will almost double peoples monthly electric bills

  • New rates are so illogical that having solar panels in the months of August and September would be worse for people's electric bills than not having solar panels
