Went pending around 7/28

Approved 8/3

Stamp arrived 8/7

Pulled the Sparrow out of NFA jail Saturday 8/8.

I havent had a chance to try it out yet, but it should be boatloads of fun!

Well ... congratulations?   :)  Or ...rather not?

Music and a microphone showed up today. Also bought a new carburetor on saturday for my El Camino.

That album is epic. I'd love it if they recored it with a bit more dynamic range like Daft Punk did with RAM but nonetheless it is AWSOME!

Ahh... that's why.

How is the cooler? Does it only fit on reference cards?

the cooler is awesome. it took my under load temps of 83-86c to below 60c on a default fan curve. I'm planning too get some high airflow fans and just ramp them up! keep it below 50! (I hope!) I'm now getting about 1550Mhz on my core speed. I'm going to sit down and OC it fully tomorrow.

the water pump will fit any card as its using the standard mounting holes but the shroud probably wont fit and the VRM heatsinks are left from the reference cooler.

Wow 1550Mhz on a reference card!

P.S. also got the Acer XB280HK a few days ago. Sadly it's shit compared to the Acer XB270HU.

lol ill still always stick to resolution over refresh :P least you didnt say it was shit in general only in comparison!

Whats more amazing about my 1550Mhz OC is thats with 0 yes 0 additional voltage!! i think theres still more to eek out of my little card!!

Sadly it's shit in general too, because it isn't even IPS.

4K is the most overhyped technology this decade. There is literally no difference compared to 1440P. And almost all games are unplayable for me now at 60hz :(

I'm building another customer PC later this week.

attachicon.gifP8100007.JPG

Extension cables for the aforementioned PC. I'll be using some cables from my personal stash in it too.

Also an extra set for J.J.'s overcooked PC, which is also very likely to be upgraded in the near future (his 550ti was a temporary solution to cut costs when I built the PC ... over 3 years ago.  It really is holding the entire PC back at this point).  It will have its cable management overhauled either way.

I used to build 2 or 3 PCs each year, but it's picking up now and I'm also doing way more maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting nowadays.

That means I just can't keep messing around with jars full of screws, bags full of cable ties and wasting time creating USB installers.  Time to up my game a bit.

attachicon.gifP8100009.JPG

Plastic boxes for sorting out my screws etc.  The jam pots full of random screws were getting on my nerves.

After sorting them all out and throwing away the ones that were obviously used, it all looks a bit empty.  However I'm pretty sure the amount of screws etc will increase over time.

In fact I already have a bunch of screws and a few lengths of motherboard standoffs on order and expect those later this week.

The cat isn't a new purchase, I've had her for close to 11 years now.

attachicon.gifP8100011.JPG

A slightly larger box for zip ties, screwdrivers and random stuff.  On the left is a roll of 5m x 10mm velcro that I cut into 20 pieces of 25cm (for temporary cable management while building).

attachicon.gifP8100006.JPG

The Adata stick will carry my regular Windows tools and apps, as well as a bootable Linux.  I used to have a PNY Hook Attaché for that very use, but the release mechanism's spring seems to be wearing out because it's detaching itself from my keychain occasionally.

The Sandisk is for a bit of an experiment.  Can't go into that now, otherwise it'll get really boring.

Oh, and then there's the 11 Kingston sticks.  These will be used for OS installations.

I'm getting tired of losing time making bootable installer sticks whenever I need one, so I'm just going to make installers for the Windows and Linux versions I use the most.  These sticks are dead cheap, so I'll just get more if I have used all of them.

The Phobia button will be attached to a set of I/O wires with connector from my old HAF X so I can use it as a power switch for out-of-case builds.

The microfibre cloths and the cleaning kit are for my own use.

Oh, one more thing.

iFixit-Magnetic-Project-Mat-Vertical-Str

Probably the most interesting post ive seen in this thread in a while!

Are those Nanoxia extensions? I knew they had them but have never seen them. How are they?
