what is 105? I'm not super knowledgeable about road bike hardware, I just needed to go from 72.5mm cranks to 65mm so I just bought the exact same model I've been riding for years.

Shimano 105 is the drivetrain tier one above what you have, its generally considered to be the best value for money road groupset available. Going ultregra or Dura ace mostly just yields weight saving

Thank for for this! looks like it was only an extra $50 from what I paid. my next upgrade will probably be tools and equipment to better maintain my equipment, then I will invest in better components. Ill definitely keep the 105 drivetrain in mind when I need to replace something, thanks again.

some parts are worth upgrading more than others, rear derailleur should take a back seat to better shifters because you will notice the better shifter more than an better mech, front mech on the other hand is worth spending more money on.

Ahhh, I went RGB with my main and 2nd rigs (using similar remotes as well) a while back.....RGB FTW! :D

The guy who did my cable wasn't happy with the pic I'd posted, he realized that the cables had to be twisted in order for the pins in the plugs to align and fit nicely. He'd asked me to return the cable to him so he can fix it even though I'd not bothered to complain about it. Gave it to him on Saturday and have collected it from him today. Definitely much improved as I'd hardly need to twist it to fit nicely.... ;)

In the past two days, I have ordered 2 5,000mAh power banks ($17 total from woot), a Serial to USB adapter cable, 7 port USB hub, a three pack of assorted lengths of charger cables for my phone, and a USB extension cable, because the closet I have my lab in gets hot, and I want to sit comfortably at my desk while I configure stuff. All console cables will go to adapters, which will go into the hub, which will feed into my laptop via the extension cables

Yeah, I could pretty comfortably put another 980Ti in mine. I will, however, suggest that you don't. If you have one 980Ti and a M-ITX motherboard in this glorious M-ATX case... it's just so freaking gorgeous.

People still mad about the 3.5 Gb?

Well it's a 1 year old card, and the R9 390 has 8GB of vram. You even get 8GB of normal ram at Newegg for free. It's a no brainer now.
