That's not that fast.

They pay for better internet than you do.

50Mbps is pretty basic.

I've gotten 800Mbps over Wifi before...
Admittedly it was from my NAS to my computer transferring large files but...

Two 4x4 APs (Ubiquiti nanoHD) with one set as an uplink. 80VHT.

If I had it to do over again, I could probably get 1Gbps if I used 160VHT... ehh

If you want better WiFi, buy something like a TP-Link EAP225 for $60ish (periodic sales on Amazon) and set it up off of your existing wireless router. It uses PoE so anywhere you can get an ethernet cable, you can get the AP (positioning matters, you want the AP to be near your use areas)

---

work wifi included for laughs. It's ususally something like 500Mbps at the main office. I'm currently in a crowded cafeteria.

I mean, considering the average in many countries hasn't even hit 20Mbps down yet.... 50 down is pretty fast to the average person.

Currently focusing on my video game collection.  Here's what I got so far.

Keep in mind I'm still grabbing multiplatform games on PC, unless they happen to be cheaper on PS4 or Switch (such as RDR2 as of right now)

Currently Playing:

  • Pokemon Sword - Switch
  • Super Mario 3D All-Stars - Switch

Games Beaten:

  • Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - Switch
  • A Way Out - PS4

(will be reset at the beginning of each month)

Put on hold:

  • Splatoon 2 - Switch

How many games I'm needing:

  • DS: 82
  • Wii: 38
  • 360/PS3: 84
  • 3DS: 60
  • Wii U: 7
  • PS Vita: 34
  • PS4: 18
  • Switch: 14

It's not a bad speed for free, if you live close enough you could probably just use this all the time with a VPN, I know I would with those speeds.

for a free public wifi, thats not bad. but no where near fast. the real speed of a wifi depends on your client devices. some high end phones have mimo dual antenna wifi, can go up to 600mbps.

why everybody post the spec of their rig here? i dont! cuz its made of mashed potatoes!

Interesting story, I worked at an f100 last year that had a few thousand terabytes of data to push to a different data center after a backlog arose.

Someone literally drove a bunch of hard drives a few hundred miles to get things processed.
