Pizza Protip

Chronified

When reheating leftover Pizza, place a mug of water in the microwave with the Pizza.

A few reasons for this:
1) It stops the pizza from heating too quickly (hot on outside / cold on side) by displacing a lot of the heat produced by the microwave

2) the moisture stops the pizza from tasting like cardboard. (rehydrates it)

3) The pizza tastes like 3x better than reheating it without water.

Don't trust me? Try it next time.

It'll take about 30 seconds extra because of the water, but it's VERY worth it.

How about just eat the whole pizza the first time then you don't have to deal with reheated pizza.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Another tip is to store leftover pizza in a ziplock bag. I know some people who wrap it in foil or just throw the whole box into the fridge, but the ziplock is the best method I've been able to find so far.

Microwaving Pizza is the inferior method to begin with.

Oven, broil setting, put pizza in immediately, let pizza cook as the oven warms up. 3-5 minutes later, and you've got warm pizza with chewy melted cheese.

This is my preferred method of heating up pizza if time is not a factor: https://www.amazon.com/HotLogic-Mini-Personal-Portable-Oven/dp/B00EC7XJ28

My brother swears by using a pan on the stove top though.

As for @Chronified's tip, I went to go reheat my pizza in the microwave this morning and I have no room in my microwave for a plate and a mug with water. :(

Protip for making a delicious Pizza, Pascal... style:

  1. Roll out the Pizza dough in a thin but not to thin fashion, or try out Pizza bread if you like your Pizza extra crispy
  2. Put on the thin sliced Mozzarella first before you put on the tomato puree because the Mozzarella stops the puree from making the dough/bread "wet"
  3. Then the tomato puree
  4. Then thin sliced ham/sausage
  5. Then I like to put on olives and sardines
  6. Bake your delicious master piece in the oven from 180-200° Celsius for about 20-25 minutes to your liking, or if you have a Pizza stone oven, your even better of.
  7. Et voilá ?, you just made yourself a delicious and healthy Pizza ?

You can take a look at all of the Tech that I own and have owned over the years in my About Me section and on my Profile.

never had pizza because i dont like cheese, would like to have one if theres alternative.

im somewhat a stigma in the family because i like food from all parts of the world instead of the same old crap they've been eating for millenia. but whenever i talk about how delicious maguro sushi is or how spanish ham is so good the only way to enjoy it is thin slice with fine wine, they look at me in a way akin to looking at a traffic accident.

why everybody post the spec of their rig here? i dont! cuz its made of mashed potatoes!

Have... have you actually ever tried pizza w/ cheese though?

You might dislike cheese but find you love it on pizza.

It's not like they just throw slices of American cheese on it...just spend the $2 it costs for a single slice sometime and give it a shot.

If you use proper passata you don't have to worry about wet dough. I'd also crank the heat in your oven as hot as possible since real pizzaiolo generally have custom pizza ovens that reach close to 1000°. I find the pizza comes out much nicer that way and it takes way less than half an hour.

Also make sure you are using proper bufala and tear it by hand yourself. Don't buy the preshredded crud!

i'm not that fancy, i literally drip a few drops of water on the bottom of the crust before tossing it in the microwave

yah. I just keep a pizza stone in my oven most of the time. Slap it on there. Don't even have to preheat, just get it warm.

Any time I have leftover pizza I always eat it cold and try to have it all gone within 2 days, otherwise it gets stale and hard.
