It will already do that by default within the limits of what it's capable of.

    5ghz 8700 vs 5ghz 9700k vs 5ghz 9900k vs 5ghz 10900k...

    Differences aren't huge.

    Coming from someone who upgraded from a 5ghz 8700k to a 5.1-5.3ghz 10900k and a 3080.....not worth it.

Get 12600/12700k and upgrade the whole platform. Or just wait for 13th gen.

    I wish I did.

I wouldn't mix AMD (integrated graphics) and nVidia cards, just increases the risk of driver conflicts or other issues.  If you go with 12600k, I'd have no problem with nvidia workstation cards, but you pay extra for motherboards if you go that route. You'd probably save $100-$150 on the motherboard if you go the AMD route.

That definitely isn't helping. I don't know if it is the problem, but it's definitely something you should fix, if nothing else for the health of the drive.

Yeah, if youre really still worried you could look at resource manager and check on their tabs to see if that same app is using a load of GPU and CPU.

Each and every single CPU (including one 8700K to another 8700K) is different.
You need to find out what voltage YOUR i7-8700K is stable @ 5.0GHz with the lease amount of voltage.

There's no need to do so if it's stable and your noise levels are acceptable.

Obviously you could try to lower voltage at the same clock and try for the lowest possible needed and validate, which you should be doing anyway. Then bump up a tiny bit, like 5mv.

BigRecoiilz reacted to Spotty in How much should I sell my PC for?
Moved to the New Builds & Planning subforum. Might not be obvious by the name, but it's the best place for appraisals on how much PCs are worth. The people who frequent the New Builds & Planning section are really good at pricing out components to give you an idea of what it's worth.

How much did you pay for the graphics card?
The problem with parting it out is you'll sell the graphics card very easily, but might have trouble getting rid of the rest of the stuff or not get as high a price for them.
I would say maybe $750 + however much the GPU is worth. It definitely wouldn't hurt to put the entire system up for $2000 and see if anyone is interested.

    Overpriced

Rog aios are overpriced asf, corsair h100i platinum will obliterate it, though if you have the space then you can get a better value option like liquid freezer 240-360, if you arent overclocking a cheap 4 heatpipe tower like se 224 xt or freezer 34 will suffice

Rgb pro is overpriced trash, find some cheaper rgb rams instead of overpaying for the corsair brand or atleast get some good overclocking rams like tridentz rgb or tridentz neo
    Bad

11600k is basically the same price as a 5600x and with a 5600x you can get a cheaper mb and not have to overclock it to harness its performance unlike the 11600k, and good luck trying to overclock an 11600k with a sad 240mm aio

Try using quicksync on your cpu. It has a hardware encoder, and is included on your cpu. Might have to enable the igpu in the bios though.

    No encoder.
Id stay away from any amd card here, esp the old ones as the h.264 encoder wasn't great on these, and OP alraedy have a much better encoder on their cpu.

    I have a kit of Crucial ballistix sport LT rated 3000 15-16-16-16-35 1.35v that ran 3733 15-19-16-16-35 1.39v.
The ddr4 oc guide mentioned above is a great resource.
Y-cruncher can be useful for stability testing, recommend it before running longer tests because it's fast and can catch things other tests might miss. (benchmark pi, multi-thread, highest amount not exceeding ram capacity)

BigRecoiilz reacted to LIGISTX in OC 3000MHz ram to 3200 or even 3400??
Yes. But, ram overclocking is the trickiest overclocking… settings can be difficult, and actually stress testing it correctly and proving it to be stable is difficult. Not to mention errors down the line from what may not be a fully stable OC can be really tricky to diagnose; RAM related issues are the worst.

That said, yes, I run my 3000 MHz RAM at 3500 (was 3600 on my last CPU, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). It took about 2 weeks to get it fully dialed and stable, for a couple % gain at best…

If your genuinely interested in RAM overclocking, the GitHub page on it is fantastic. https://github.com/integralfx/MemTestHelper/blob/oc-guide/DDR4 OC Guide.md

Don’t skimp on thoroughly testing it. You would much rather have stable slightly slower RAM then unstable slightly faster RAM…

Lol he's paying me to do it because he wants to build one. He's also paying a builder's fee so there's that. The PC isn't going to BE top tier but I want it to look the part without spending too much. A 1050 is definitely an option to get for the build though.

It's both. Higher bitrate demands more from CPU. And uses more upload speed.

Ah, yes. Warzone being the key issue. Start by lowering bitrate. Maybe to like 4500kbps and see how big effect is to quality vs fps.

BigRecoiilz reacted to Boomwebsearch in Is the Zotac Amp! GTX 1080 any good for a used card?
The GTX 1080 is still a pretty good graphics card (even though the RTX 2000 and 3000 series cards are better), considering that it is a used card, you really don't know if the card was abused (ex. cryptocurrency mining). If you don't absolutely need a new GPU right now (can use integrated graphics or a GPU you already have) then I would recommend waiting until the prices fall and likely new GPUs will come to the market.

I can't even begin to imagine that being worth it, but you want to boost the 8700k as much as you can as well as RAM.

There are various guides to google to get your 8700k to 5GHz, as well as RAM guides to tighten timings and increase frequency.
