I'm thinking of getting these 2x 8gig sticks since i think its a good upgrade from my 20gig 2400mhz ram https://www.amazon.ca/Crucial-Ballistix-Desktop-Gaming-BL2K8G36C16U4B/dp/B083TRX7FX/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=3600%2Bcl16&qid=1623419134&s=electronics&sr=1-4&th=1 are they good or should i get something else? (current pc https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hrmkQD)

Yes that is a very good set of ram, though I'd expect a lower CAS latency (the CL16) at something like CL14 with that ram speed.

If you have the budget, I'm assuming you do since you were about to purchase $120 ram, this is what I'd recommend;

https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-VENGEANCELPX16GB-PC4-28800-C141-45V-OptimizedMemory/dp/B07VGJGKX1/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=ddr4+3600+cl14&qid=1623420141&sr=8-3

I mean it depends. The cl 14 will be faster in cpu bound scenarios. We are talking like maybe 5%. But this is again assuming that you are under a cpu bottleneck and that you can actually get 5% more performance out of your gpu.

why are we fighting over 5% when 5% is not that much CL16 is like a golden standard on gaming.

It depends on the person. Some people just want the best regardless of price so they are willing to throw down the extra cash for the 5%. Sure it might not make sense when you look at the price difference alone but let's say you are building a 2000+ dollar build. Then the price difference between the two is relatively small so it might be worth it to them.
