New build for uncle (office work only)

BigRecoiilz

Budget (including currency): Max $600-$650-ish

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: He's a construction worker so he might be using 3D generating software for large projects, and other basic computing, no hard gaming.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Maybe only integrated graphics are needed for the 3D generating like UHD 630 or AMD equivalent? Maybe even a GTX 1050 or something? Need a full part list. I'm going to be buying a Corsair CV650 for about $60 for the build by the way.

I would recommend a GTX 1050 for that kind of rendering, but I would recommend a Radeon Pro WX 3100, WX 3200 or even WX 5100 over the 1050 (when it comes to rendering, they are a bit more capable than your average gaming card). Easiest thing to do would be buy an old Optiplex or ProDesk with a 4th gen i5 from eBay and stick a GPU in it.

Lol he's paying me to do it because he wants to build one. He's also paying a builder's fee so there's that. The PC isn't going to BE top tier but I want it to look the part without spending too much. A 1050 is definitely an option to get for the build though.

how big are the models he typically works with? At work, I can easily use more than 16GB of ram depending how big the 3D assembly is. I work as an engineer by the way.

Mainly just houses/buildings from about 1,000-4,000 square feet. So definitely a 32gb or 24gb ram kit at 2666MHz or even 3000MHz?

I would recommend 3000 Mhz, normally it's not too much more and should help with the 3D software. Make sure to check the prices around your area though because sometimes a 3200 mhz can be cheaper than 2666 mhz. Kits typically come in 2x8GB (16 GB), 2X16GB (32GB), 2x32GB (64GB). There really isn't a middle grounds

Why? It's not a very good psu model and it's more capacity than needed.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
