That whole thing sounds retarded.

iTakeThings got a reaction from mr moose in Thousands of Amazon workers are listening in on Echo audio, report says
I don’t believe it’s for “amusement”. I doubt amazon pays groups of employees to just sit in a circle and listen to audio snippets for the fun of it. They are trying to make the product work better. Don’t like it, don’t buy it. Literally that simple.

Convenience outweighs the person's desire to keep certain thoughts private in the, let's be honest, still unlikely event anyone gives enough of a shit about the thought to do anything with it.

iTakeThings reacted to DrMacintosh in Apple Music surpasses Spotify in the U.S.
No matter how you slice it, if you want to consolidate your library and save the most money while maximizing the types and number of songs you listen to.....you get Apple Music or Spotify.

iTakeThings got a reaction from N1NJ4W4RR10R in Looking for advice part 2
I know I’m not in need necessarily. I’ve noticed some slight issues when I got a new monitor so I started thinking of something with more power and my brother really wants a pc but isn’t in a position where he can get one so I figured might as well build a new one for me and give him my current one.

iTakeThings reacted to aisle9 in Is your PC safe enough from theft?
My computer room was booby trapped. One switch turns on the lights, the other detonates several small incendiary charges placed strategically around the room to ensure that no one has time to figure out which computer has the valuable data on it before they're all fried.
Then my wife went in there one night looking for the remote and hit the wrong switch, and now I don't have computers. Or a wife or dog. It's ok, they survived, but my bank account definitely won't after the divorce. Apparently women don't appreciate being on fire.

iTakeThings reacted to shmoochie in Future PC advice
the beta is going on right now buts its time gated, every other day and its only for like 4 hours a session,
all you had to do to get a key was pre-order it on amazon and when they send you the key cancel the pre-order, amazon doesn't charge for pre-orders untill the day its released. and comes out soon so I doubt they will do a open beta. and TBH that game is not very good IMO, not enough ammo at low levels atleast, you cant run for more then 6 sec even when I put 10 level into my endurance. the no NPC's makes the game really weird. the missions are just go listen to this holo tape, then find this holo tape and listen to it. etc, then there is little events that are just kill waves of enemies or do these tasks then defend the machine from mole rats.
only thing I enjoy is the scenery

iTakeThings reacted to Uptivuptiz in Fortnite mobile fans hack their way into acquiring Galaxy skins
The phones on display in the store is there for customers to try out. Their purpose is not to get skins in Fortnite... I get that it's stupid that you have to buy a new phone just for a skin (the greediness of big companies continue, I guess...), but not using an demo item in a store for it's intended purpose is just not okay. Now, you might say: "But, it's a phone. It can run Fortnite so that's what intended for.". And I would say that's true... If it's you who is the owner of the phone.

So long as what you're eating doesn't get on or in components, you're fine.

iTakeThings reacted to Ashleyyyy in what brands are you loyal to?
why is brand loyalty stupid? if i buy 3 motherboards by asus and all work fine with no issues why would i then buy something else that's maybe €10 less, when i already trust asus?

iTakeThings reacted to Morgan Everett in NVidia Geforce RTX 2080 confirmed up to 2x GTX 1080 performance. Evidence for 2080 ti as well.
If accurate, then it looks like a 40-50% bump. That’s about what I would expect, but makes the 1080 Ti tempting, with price drops.

iTakeThings reacted to Razor Blade in Verizon Throttles Fire Department Data
Hard to say but I don't think it is as simple as a customer service rep to say "oh okay" and push a button to make things all better. Verizon is a really large company. Even request escalations take time to process. Upsells are something a customer service rep can do with a single "yes"
