I'm expecting it to be about $1000-1200 in Aus. given the 980 starts at $700 and the titan x is $1500 at MSY,

Because it's never been a direct conversion for prices anywhere outside of the states.

Cheapest Titan X here is 1800 which is around 1300 USD

but it is. states prices have no taxes on them, add taxes and prices are always exactly the same give of take a couple of cents.

Well unless everyone always has to pay taxes on them, then that point doesn't really matter.

I'm not 100% sure on buying parts online in the states but I'm pretty sure the end users don't then get charged an extra 20-30 percent in tax and if they don't then people in other countries still end up paying significantly more.

nope ... not really ... it is not always the case, that prices are just converted according to current rates. best example is Apple.

Yea but for example GTX 960, 970 and 980 cots 1:1 $ to € so why is suddenly Titan X 200€ more?

And thats before the dolar went up with value.

So if these prices are right then it should be just under £650 in the UK (Inc VAT) (Yay for 20% VAT)

Not bad, that was the price I was expecting tbh,

970 = £270

980 = £470

980Ti = £650

Titan X = £870

Sounds about right  :rolleyes:

if the country has taxes people in that country pay those taxes what the fk are you talking about

you are right, apple prices in australia are actually lower.
