Windows 10 will include junkware - the cost of free

GoodBytes

I knew there was a catch.

I bet there are many other things hidden in Windows 10 that makes them desperate to give it away for free.

This is probably just one of dozens of little "features" they'll try cramming down our throats.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

If the cost of having the next big OS (which as far as TPs go, is worth its weight in hype) for free means having a uninstallable game...I'm okay with that.

I'd argue that I never wanted minesweeper, chess or all those other nonsense bloatware games on my fresh Windows install. Whats so different about this?

Oh yea, bitching. As usual.

You can remove viruses too, but you rather not have them.

There's a difference between going to the control panel and uninstalling then having a full system scan and then it going through a quarantine system then you having to restart

If there is, and it's legal, I'm tempted.

Do not fear, for we are PC. If people can create extensive mods for games in less then 24 hours.

I have faith that someone will find a way to remove the vile that is Candy Crush, also within that time. If not even pre-official release.

Even more reason for me to switch exclusively to Linux.  Unfortunate that some apps and games just refuse to run in WINE.

You mean like... Right click and uninstall? That feature already exists.

Uninstallable? Nothing is that. If it does not come with a standard uninstall function, someone will make one.

Good luck with that. Linux will never be interesting for consumers.

It depends, if I can uninstall them or not. SSDs are still not cheap so unless they have amazing compression I'd rather pay for it.

Microsoft said that Windows 10 will include additional non-Microsoft apps with the OS.

So far, Microsoft announced that Candy Crush Saga game by King development studio will be included with the Operating System, and will be automatically installed.

It's only free if you are upgrading from Windows 7 or Windows 8, so there will be a payed option, however, it looks like the payed option will get the bloatware aswell.

Well I wont be upgrading to Windows 10 any time soon, even though it seems like a hell of a OS.

Orrrrrrr you could just right-click and select "Uninstall". Modern apps support one click uninstalling via context menu.

Have you ever tried uninstallting anything on an android phone from samsung/sony/whatever, its full of crap noone ever uses and all it does is cry for upgrades and to have access to your entire phone, I bet when this hits Candy Crush will be able to: Read all your data on the harddrive, get your location, send notifications to King and MS, send "annonymous data" to whatever third party paid MS or King for it. This even before you have installed Windows 10 completely. When I install an OS I expect a clean OS with minimal programs so I can choose what to install and when. Windows 8 was borderline(still using indows 7) if you ask me with all the shit that got pre-installed.

That is why I want a payed option with NOTHING installed except the OS and a webbrowser, rest I can fix on my own. Sure I know I might be a minority on this, but being a IT-professional its scary to see people dont care anything about where their data gets uploaded to.

What if MS decides that you cannot uninstall it, what then? Your computer will be just like your phone, full of crap you will never use, but its still there using resources and uploading data......

Harr, darr and a couple of....... plastic earings?

As stupid as MS is for doing this, is it really that big a deal to uninstall this crap?

You're only other options are IOS (pfff) or Linux, and while Linux is just as much work to build (depending on what you want) as this version of windows will be to clean up.

I am okay with it as long as it can be FULLY uninstalled, if it can't be, I am pretty sure someone will find a way to root your PC xD

@GoodBytes You mean Windows 10 with Bing? Or the free win10 upgrade that people with win7/8 get?

I won't really care as long as you can uninstall/pay for it to be removed.
