Pretty sure that we all have some form of weird misconceptions when we were little, especially when we haven't yet grasped the idea of reality.

What were your most memorable? Here are a few that I had.

  • Thinking that rain comes from the washroom from airliners (Ewwww)
  • Thinking that fuel with "Power" in its name turns a car into a supercar.

I was told the whole "if you eat a watermelon seed, it'll grow in your stomach" thing when I was a kid.

As well as the "carrots will turn you orange" bit. I'll come back if I can think of some that aren't food-related in some way.

I thought 100 was the biggest number.

I knew a kid that thought a googol was the largest number....

I tried to explain the concept of "infinity" to him, but it didn't get across so I just drastically lowered the standards and told him 2 googols was a higher number and let him go on his own.

I thought if it was raining it was raining everywhere at once, not localized.

I thought carrots would give you better eyesight (thanks Mom and Dad xD, at least I ate a lot of carrots)

Fun fact, that was a lie propagated by British/Allied propaganda during WW2. They were able to miniaturize RADAR technology enough to start installing them into combat aircraft, but they didn't want the Axis powers to know this, so they started spreading lies saying that UK pilots just had really good eye sight due to eating so many carrots.

I asked my grandpa if I could have a root beer. He told me I'm not supposed to have sugar before dinner. I told him he was sill, there's no sugar, just beer and some roots.

I'm not sure if it's worse that I thought root beer had 2 ingredients or whether I thought I wanted to drink beer...

In some countries, it's extremely important - though you likely won't need to sign for anything on a regular basis.

They do have cooties, but it's like germs. There are good and bad germs. The nature of the cooties depend on the girl. A really nice girl with a good personality has lots of good cooties, so it's fine if you get those. Crazy girls, including but not limited to yanderes and gold diggers, have evil cooties. you don't want those
