2080 TI starting at £1099 or $1199! OPINIONS?

What are yours general opinions on the card?

Leaks were somewhat true.

meh, i even felt that going from my 1070 to a 1080ti was a waste, as i dont game nowadays, so i wont be getting it, especally at these prices.

I think for me the 1080ti is still a sick card, you wont struggle with anything for at least 4 years. I bought mine a week ago and tbh i cba to wait for 3rd party cards etc , new cards look good but im sticking with the 1080ti rog strix i got

seems like NVIDIA is just jacking the prices up higher and higher every gen. AMD needs to up their game in GPUs like they did for CPUs and turn the market for the better.

I knew two months ago they'd be very powerful after all no gpu single gpu can drive Nvidia new monitors at ultra settings 60fps. But the forum laughed.

TBH i cant wait to see the benchmarks and fps for these cards vs 1080ti's etc but i still think if u have a 1070 or higher u shouldn't sell and just stick with it 

 

I agree. I'm not going to sell my GTX 1080.

I don't even know why people were expecting the same prices if the whole new line isn't even called GTX.

Aye a 1070 will be fine anything above is just an overkill, 2 years time, new cards will come out and same shit will happen again

What wasn't discussed in the presentation was none ray tracing performance.

I need 50% more standard performance over my 1080 tis to buy now.

A GTX 1070 can't run my favorite games at 60fps on my monitors. My GTX 1080 tis are not a waste but a necessity.

You're probably just basing that off the Ray Tracing feature on the turing architecture. That doesnt make it just "4-5x faster" at all things including gaming.

In Denmark they are more expensive. They cost 50% to 60% more than we were told by Jen-Hsun. That is disappointing.

2 years from the now the early adopter tax might be gone and we can actually buy RTX cards for a normal price.

A GTX 1070 can't run my favorite games at 60fps on my monitors. My GTX 1080 tis are not a waste but a necessity.

I pretty much can't find a game that I can't play comfortably at ultra settings with my 1070 unless it was a very poorly optimized game from the start. And when you just gotta pile on huge amounts of performance for one particularly game to run right, its not a fair comparison.

 

EDIT: forgot to mention, at 1080p.

TBH I'm kinda glad that they introduced cheaper NVLink bridges because for a moment I thought that dual GPU enthusiast will have to pay $600 for that bridge

haha i think those no one can really talk till we see benchmarks when they come out and compare all cards then we can see what is going on

There are plenty of games that can't do constant 60fps at Ultra on 4K unless you've got a pair.  Now obviously that's a rather extreme situation, but it's absolute nonsense to say that it won't struggle with ANYTHING for 4 years.

It's sad. 1299 euro for a 2080ti here in Germany. There's a limit Nvidia. My entire PC cost around that much.

I have the 1070, and I get 60fps on the Witcher 3 @ 1440p. 

 

Need context: What resolution? What games?

To be completely honest. He said $999 and everywhere it's over that. In U.K it's £1099 and cheapest one I found online is £1049!

 

I'll get one but not right away. I'll wait until prices stabilise.

 

I can sell my 1080 TI in that time to be fair.

You have to also think , how many pc gamers are going to have 1080tis or higher? not many , most will have lower cards etc , companies will always try and develop towards the cheaper cards
