What do you mean? It's on Nvidia's website, Zotac, EVGA, Asus

I just bought my GTX 1070 last week........... Does this mean that the card will be obsolete in a year?

My thoughts are totally selfish. 

I only got into PC's a few months ago. 

My main gaming rig has a msi gtx1080 gaming x for 1440p and my lounge room system has a msi gtx 1060 gaming x for 1080p

Would be disappointed if I could buy a rtx2060 for similar price i paid for my gtx1060 ($400ish) and have the performance of my 1080 that i paid $830 Aus for.

Makes sense indeed! However. 1060 wasn't released yesterday, but a while ago so as usual they do another leap when it comes to GPU processing.

The 1060 i got was bnib but i swapped some quad gear for.

My plan was when the 1060 no longer performs so well in AAA titles on my tv then drop the 1080 in and upgrade my main computer to what ever is going to give me a few years of 1440p or 4k on AAA games.

But considering my builds are only a couple months old i was hoping they would be good for a few more years ( as they will be) it will just be disappointing to have new gpu's with better performance and similar price come out so soon ( but i realize there is probably a lot of people waiting on these new gpu's)

I'm getting the 2080 ti for sure, all i need gaming wise is that it performs similarly to the 1080 ti, i really would have use for the tensor cores and all the cuda cores, it will make local development so much easier for me :D without having to cash out for a tesla or a quadro (even if the performance is less, the price difference is worth it.)
