In fact, you can't upload executable files to OneDrive.

Are you sure? It uploads fine through both the desktop and web for me.

I actually never thought about putting that there till now, kinda sucks imo thought they do that because they shouldn't interfere with anyone's personal files unless it contains illegal stuff.

Ex frequent user here, still check in here occasionally. I stopped being a weeb in 2018 lol

Oops. I was thinking they're the same since Gmail doesn't support executables as attachments for security.

I wonder if this is due to the push to hold website/cloud owners liable for what the users do.

Also: who the hell stores video files with names as "POV Blowjob"? Zip that shit, name it "PV-39401" and password protect it: I doubt Google would be able to do that much automatic digging to find that out and well, it's Google so no chance they'll have any human manually review anything.

Might sound mean but while other people congratulate you on your prolific career as a cam girl I say learn some fucking PC basics if you're gonna do it for a living.

Well it is on their terms of service but more importantly, this video was likely sold to a third party so even if the impact would seem minimal, you can't expect to run a business off a consumer oriented product.

There's a reason why pornsites are a thriving business: nobody else is willing to get into that mess of public opinion and reputation and they know it and know people buying porn is a tremendous business so they charge for hosting porn accordingly.

I guess I might be even more cynical than typical but I don't really sympathize with people trying to circumvent checks and balances for personal profit.

That's not really cynicism. If you're running a business (I don't care if it's adult-oriented or not) then you shouldn't be mooching off a consumer-grade and consumer-oriented product.

This as well. Even if you'd use GDrive for this, you should be taking steps to ensure:

  1. The file is only accessible to authorized people.
  2. The file is INACCESSIBLE to unauthorized people, automatic scanners, etc.
  3. The file's properties (including name) are obfuscated to ensure content or unwanted personal information is exposed.

I don't understand why people would use Google Drive for this kind of thing in the first place. MediaFire and MEGA are about 2000x easier for sharing something quick.

Didn't that ludicrous spending bill Congress just passed start holding websites accountable if trafficking was carried out on their site? Might be a legal response to that but I don't understand this whole "blame the entity" instead of "punish the individual" that's been going around the world these days

Is it so difficult to encrypt your files and give the recipient the password? Thought this was common practice for storing sensitive, potentially incriminating data in the cloud. Evidently not.

Double-ZIP the file? With 2 passwords?

Google's business model is based on reading their customer's data and generally gathering information. It is highly likely they offer unlimited high quality photo storage to obtain data for training neural networks.

It isn't even that hard to make the files unreadable to outsiders, services such as BoxCryptor provide a folder in which all files are encrypted and sent to the folder for the relevant cloud service - more convenient than encrypting each file by hand.

videos being deleted from the cloud is why I don't trust the cloud storage and will always chose local storage first.

edit: to be clear when I say videos I'm not even talking about pron, who actually keeps that around and doesn't go find a new video online each time?

but it takes hours to find that one video im lazy

Nah, one password-protected ZIP is plenty.

I more meant like #1 is "only give the link + password to people who are supposed to have it", and #2 is "don't give the link OR password to anyone who shouldn't." If people are selling "adult" stuff, then the link + password combo is like a license key. It should be sent to the purchaser in a secure fashion that can't be read by others. If it's meant to be accessible by anyone EXCEPT for Google, one could put the link to the GDrive file and zip password off-site in a pastebin or the like.

Of course, that requires effort, and people are lazy, hence this news.

I may or may not have done this on a few occasions to hook friends up with movies of dubious legality. ?

Well it's not like there are five year olds in this forum. It makes me think that some people in this forum are way too squeamish.

I beg to differ, I think there are a lot of 5  year old's on this forum .    But in any case the other reason pron is a thing is because back in the day when there was no autocorrect words that ended up misspelt due to physical typing (rather than intention or lack of education), just became more common to the point of wide acceptance. This is actually how all language evolves which is why lel is seen so often in place of lol and why "meh" is read most times as a word rather than an expression.  Interestingly people used to spell "the" as "teh" on purpose for a while for the same reason.  but "teh" is stupid and so it lost popularity while "pron" still sounds funny  hence why people still use it.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

I hate the keyboard on the this computer, I almost always type teh instead of the when I'm typing really fast and only did it like a 1/3rd as much with my old computer, did it twice while typing this for example.

pron is simply "webspeak", just like HODL instead of Hold, it is what it is if some people feel the need to rant they can rant but it won't change anything.

Yet.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.
