Is there any reason to update?

Like others have mentioned, bug fixes and WU stability but most importantly 7.6 is able to set a preference for WUs. 7.5.1 or later is still perfectly viable if you're still rocking it on any machines. The major quirk with 7.4.4 is that for remote access applications such as HFM, there is no network access for this version.

You can select WU preference on older clients to, you are confused here. The updated client allows you to select COVID WUs specifically.

something very fishy with the points per unit that I am getting for the last 2 month

image.thumb.png.2fead996554fd19c0e2cd5d44b18c31f.png\

In May my average PPWU was 163514

In June (to date) my average PPWU is 145030 .. in the condition I added 2 GPU's in the stack :) (Radeon XT and a Vega 64 LC)

I will start removing the least proficient GPU's (2x980M / 1060M and anything that is <1.000.000 PPD and see how things will change in July)

PS: not actually removing but moving to a different F@H project :)

The COVID Moonshot WUs have stupid low PPD unfortunately, I'm not exactly sure why this is the case!

Hm, i didnt remark a high PPD loss this month - my F@H setting is "high priority" in the latest client. Maybe this is why i got better WU´s ? Or maybe i had just luck with the WU´s assigned.

I think you misunderstood .. I was referring to lower Point per work unit, not lower point per day :) In other words I am processing more units and my average PPD stays the same (between 24-25mil when things are going fine)

I think we've all encountered this BS the last couple days

Idk why the WU's can't be more consistent in how many points they offer up.

P13412 (moonshot) has been above average on my 290 and 1080, but p1176x and some of the later p16x covid WUs tank all my cards. The p14201 units that would usually boost my amd cards have all been getting sent to the 1080. :/

edit: nvm p13413 is an absolute dog

How do they calculate the PPD on projects? Is this explained by them?

Yes, it’s supposed to be a function of the time spent by you in comparison to the processing time taken to complete a WU from that series by an i5-750 machine they have. This is used for the GPU WUs as well, because any computation that they run on a CPU can be run on a GPU as well.
