Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Is that thing electric? or hybrid??

Hybrid. V6 with 2 electric motors making around 400HP and propelling it to 60 from a dead stop in 4 point something seconds

What the heck happened to the forums lately? Couldn't get on or it's been acting up over this past week. Couldn't access this thread for a few days and now it seems it made me "unfollow" this thread.. Weird. I actually thought this thread was deleted or locked because I couldn't even find it. OK, first off, the hacker who tried taking down LTT also changed the title to Cadillac :3 and unfollowed everybody. Like that's pretty cruel, especially since this was the only thread that was hit that hard. If he hits a thread, he should at least hit the anime thread, not this.

Yeah the forum has been a mess lately. You didnt miss much - just us arguing over OEM car colours, engines, the lack of a sub forum and some project cars - the usual. BTW did you get the DM o:

Brakes changed. Offending rotor and brake pad pics tomorrow. Brand new and they bite the rotor too much, need to wear them in more so the vehicle can actually creep instead of having to overpower the brakes to move at 2 mph. <_<

My JDM Nissan Pulsar GTiR SR20DET AWD

I had one of those for a week xD How do you keep your foot off the go pedal?

Does everyone on this thread here like the sound of engine backfire?

I personally don't like it... (or really high revs and loud exhausts in general...) I like my rides fast and quiet...

Not a fan. Unless it has anti-lag.. always hints at a poorly tuned engine for me.

It sounds good with some light popping and banging on the overrun though. But the obnoxious gunshot sounding backfires can fuck off.

Some jackass was ddosing the forum and generally being annoying

Some mod merged this thread with another car thread about a caddilac. Incorrectly i assume since the thread lost its title and followers.

They shouldn't do that... could be seized calipers. Happens a lot after brake jobs on fords. Its roulette if the calipers take being compressed.

I couldn't decompress them all the way so it might be that. I'll look at it in the morning and try to move the brake pads. Could be the bolts being over tightened. *Shrug* It doesn't grind out or vibrate anymore so I'm happy.

I don't drive it much at all these days, but when I do drive it I have great trouble. Needs a few things done to it to get it going sweet again and then I'll drive it more again. It has a little bit of work done to it but it really needs a new tune but the aftermarket ecu is now obsolete and no one tunes them. Only done about 3000ks in it since I brought it.

Did you force them on the rotors? If they don't move with little effort with the wheel off the ground then something is up. I don't think overtightening bolts would cause it.

Usually though when those calipers seize its pretty bad though. Like you put it in drive and it wont move at all until you give it gas.

Nah, they went over the pads pretty smoothly, just had to wiggle a bit to align with the bolt holes.

It crawls but it's like a mile or two slower.

Probably not seized. Ride them while at a speed for a while. After a brake job I will ride them at 30 mph for a few blocks. Then I go on some back roads and lock them up a few times.

Was too lazy, went to dunkin donuts driving like an idiot and did a ride around the block once slowing down fairly quickly. I can lock up the tires now though. :D

Thats good. I've had times in customers cars where they lock up so hard foreign objects come flying from the back... cat carriers, stuffed animals, stacks of CDs (they exist).

I was going slow enough that nothing came flying at me, I'm also smart enough to not have heavy objects in the back, everything either in the trunk or on the floor in the back seat.

Yeah working on other peoples cars has made me a little better about keeping stuff clean in my car. I think I mentioned it before here but there was that Dodge Neon that I had a heater core on that was nearly filled to the windows with garbage. McDonalds bags, tampons, tons of papers with personal info on it.

Plus imagining all that shit flying around when you have to hit the brakes or get in a wreck... could seriously hurt you.

Ugh, I don't know how people can deal with that. I like having vehicles be squeaky clean inside and out. The inside of the Mustang is a bit trashed, it needs a deep scrubbing and all the tools out but at least it's all organized.

I've probably got 2kg in receipts and unused tissues inside the car... there's a spill stain on the passenger side carpet... parts of the seatbelt system is almost broken (blame the tropical heat)... the steering wheel's surface is cracked in several places (I covered it up with a nice steering wheel cover, blame the tropical heat again)... The interior needs a good and thorough cleaning... It's actually in decent condition for a car that's 15 years old and lived its life in the harsh conditions of the Philippines...

My car is also my lunchroom, so it gets messy regardless. Nothing a little vacuuming can't fix.

There's a lot of dust and ash in the carpet. A couple stains in the back seats from things like brake cleaner, oil, brake dust.. etc..

Eating while driving is fun... Especially when you're stuck in traffic during your supposedly usual dinnertime...

Largest meal I had in a car was a McDonald's rice + chikcen fillet meal...

I don't eat while driving. I park somewhere and eat. I only eat in my car cause it has AC and it lets me get away from things.
