Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

How strict are your tuning laws in australia?

Ours are pretty strict. With extensive modifications being required if you want to increase the horsepower more than 15%.

But that mostly leads to swedes bunkering up in their garages over the winter months to build monsters.

(Because if you are forced to change the driveline,Axles,Suspension and reinforce the car. You are not going to settle for a 20% increase in power xD

I'll put it this way if they can hear your blow off valve your getting a ticket and have to get it replaced with one you can't hear

What kind of import rims look good on a Mazdaspeed 6? TE-37s? ADR anything? I like the thick spoked wheels more than the thin one.s.

Uras NS-01s and Enkei RP03s could look good too

How about some BBS wheels? The RS are quite a nice classic wheel. I have a pair of BBS wheels on my Infiniti (not sure of the model, Nissan had BBS make wheels for the i30t.. so they're factory wheels. Quite nice actually)

Aww sorry bout your VWs :(

But now you have a Maxima! Join the club! MY00 aren't the A32, but still. VQ's baby!!

BBS's are nice, and they can look good on most any car; but I'm kind of over them for some reason. I love those Infiniti's, I don't see them that often; someone near me growing up had a red one when I was in high school. I wanted it so bad.

The VW's have been gone for years, so I've wept my tears and moved on. Though I will own one (or two...or 10) mk2's at some point in the future. Lego cars FTW. I like the Maxima, it just doesn't have the same soul as the VW's. But I don't think she'll ever die.

The Uras rims actually look really similar to TE-37s.

They are basically 5 spoke Te37s  ;)  If you go with a larger (thicker) spoke wheel, I prefer a design with a smaller design of spokes

I'm still going strong with 130k on my Maxima.. er.. i30t  :P Never had any major problems.

Come to think of it, neither have our E39s.. One is still strong(ish.. starting to get problems) with 180k. The other is in perfect condition. 90k I believe. Them inline 6's are tanks

Our Audi on the other hand... aww lawd. If we had another AWD car with that much power that Audi would be gone in an instant.

The Maxima/Cefiro/i30/a32 are surprisingly nice, even if they're aren't the most lively cars. I am assuming your A33 is the same way. If I want to have fun driving, there are other, better options out there. Very hard to beat on a reliability standpoint though. If only it was RWD..

Yeah, I bought mine at with 207k miles on the clock, it's now at ~260k. I've had to replace a bunch of stuff, but she's still running fine. New motor mounts (the ones on the sides, not the ones on the crossmember thing, I already did those) and o2 sensors are next. The VW's were a lot more fun to drive (and easier to work on; boo computers, yay mechanical engineering), but as far as a highway cruiser it's perfect. There aren't many twisties near me...

The rims do look ok,  but yeah, I need a good looking fitment. I don't like a huge gap at all. And btw, that mazda 3 isn't hellaflushed, the rims aren't tucked.

You mean the 6 wagon? That thing is pretty flush if I have ever seen a flush car. Look at the rear. Pretty damn flush. Also there is literally no tire gap. You'll be rubbing on the slightest of bumps.

Do you want your wheels tucked? The Speed6 is supposed to be a really nice road car. You're kinda ruining the whole point of the "performance" of the car if you slam the thing.

But then again, you'll look cool in the parking lots when hard parking so I guess that's a decision you'll have to make.

Well, maybe at most a 2-3 inch gap. Anything more looks dumb.
