clio: 144bhp for 2200 lbs

my current miata: 160hp (JDM motor+ecu) for 2300 lbs

 

basically the same car. one is 60-70% cheaper (for a nice one, from here) and RWD (not that I care all that much, I can have fun in either)

Saw these while browsing Facebook. The Spoiler is a valid point for arguments, but that matte looking/brushed wrap is my weak spot. The rims fit the look pretty good as well, air suspension allowing for some nice pictures to be taken :P

rover engine? the 130 hp one?  these are sub 2000lb right?  you guys should do a slow roll race, I'm curious how they stack up in a straight line...

 

have you driven it yet?  how do you like it.  I drove a newer Elise, the one with the Celica engine and I wasn't a huge fan...  granted I only drove it on the street and in the canyons, so I'm not sure how much I'd like it on the track or autox..

no. same guy that had the Exige Sport 260, which he let me drive.

 

Yeah the 130 one. But that car was built for a certain race series they have in England, has a diffeerent cam and some other bits (like ECU). supposedly makes 170hp. So it'll destroy my car. 1800lbs and on slicks btw.

I beat him at autoX though. he couldn't get the hard race slicks warm enough, it was just loose and all over the place the whole time. I wanted to ride in it but while there is a pasenger seat, theres that stupid bar for the roll bar in the way (though it's detachable), and also there was no seat belts that was a no go.

He'll probably let me drive it eventually. And I'd feel a lot more comfortable in that versus his $120k rare exige lol, of which I was just so nervous for both him and myself... just didn't want to drive it hard at all. Could tell it was special to him

 

If he puts some good AutoX tires on it, it'll be a rocket at autoX for sure. But I think he has trackday plans for it. so idk

 

there was a certain corbeau seat in the drivers seat that looked like it would be amazing in my miata... I wonder if he knows what it is. I'd like to find it. It closely resembles the elise seat!

personally I'm not a big fan of corbeau seats, the few that I sat in weren't that comfortable...  I think I'm an OMP customer for life... :D

well the thing is the seat in question -- i've honestly never seen before.

If I can get a pic of it one of these days (or months lol) ill show you...

 

yeah very close to 10lbs per hp. I just wonder how the curve is on that motor though.

Just needs more work, was able to finish middle of the pack completely stock but need to do brakes and suspension, then we talking. Also once its got a splitter and RS spoiler goign to look even better

I've been thinking about putting a front spoiler and side skirts (and some sort of rear "diffuser" for the look), not sure what's good and whats plastic/metal junk.
