Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Question does solid core conductor transmit more amps then stranded?

I know solid core conductor aint good for portablility as it will kink the conductor and break the conductor soon or later.

10awg doubled up is 7awg

12awg doubled up is 9awg

10/1 bulk single conductor wire is $0.90/m = $0.27/ft x 3 conductors is $0.81/ft = 10/3 but $1.62/ft with doubled up 10awg = 7awg

10/3 is $1.48/ft in bulk compared to $0.81/ft as stated above.

33' extension cord 8/3 is $70 or $2.12/ft but double up 10awg, the price is $1.62/ft

240V Welding cable is expensive but it has a very thick insulator jacket that is very Heavy duty. Just like extension cords.

25' $105 or $4/ft then 50' $150 or $3/ft

What I need is from the panel to work area, which is in front of front door deck would be 20-25' for the cabin, and about the same for the house. Not to mention cost of breaker.

Based on this stranded conductor ext cord chart, 10awg at 20-25' should be good for 25-30A I am guessing. Welding extension cords are usually 8awg, and that should take 50A. Unless I am mixing up my input amps to the welder on Lincoln 225-S.

Mount a NEMA Type 6-50R receptacle in a suitable
location. Be sure it can be reached by the plug on the input cable
attached to the welder.
Using the following instructions, have a qualified electrician connect
this receptacle (NEMA 6-50R Type) to the power lines at the fuse
box. Three #10 or larger copper wires are required if conduit is
used. For long cable runs over 100'(31m), #8 or larger wire in
conduit will be needed to prevent excessive voltage drops. Fuse the
two hot lines with 50 ampere super lag type fuses as shown in the
following diagram. The center contact in the receptacle is for the
grounding connection. A green wire in the input cable connects this
contact to the frame of the welder. This insures proper grounding of
the welder frame when the welder plug is inserted into the
receptacle. If a separate disconnect switch is used, it should have
two poles for the two hot lines and both should be fused for 50
amperes

Thank god I deal with neither in winter. I just have rain and fog to worry about. At least I still somewhat have grip in those conditions. But I really hate how people drive like ass when it rains, as if rain suddenly makes people brain-blind when it comes to driving.

NE1 weld with cheap $22usd solar mask/helmet?

https://www.dhgate.com/wholesale/search.do?act=search&sus=&searchkey=welding+helmet&catalog=#Homesearch201403

Theres a guy local sells some no name who knows what for $45cdn, so $22usd straight from China is like $30cdn.

Auckland Grainger has a $3500 welding mask/helmet for $150 min order 2.

Princess Auto had a solar mask for $20 or so, reg $70. But out of stock.

There is a new style where the glass tilt up with the movement of your jaw. Suppose to be glass filter, for fine work, but thats $120usd. If one can figure out the mechanism, its easily copied. I'd buy it from China and put in my own #11 filter from Lincoln and a 2.0 cheater lense.

I heard today that this year, every single one of the 50 states got snow somewhere within the state lines.

I also learned it’s common to get snow at the higher altitudes in Hawaii lol

Y'all added about 140 pages while I was away damn. Anyway quick update on my e46. I painted all the trim instead of paying the obscene BMW price for shadowline. I've grown to love this color and honestly I'm not sure if I want to paint it white anymore, I might just opt for doing a new clear coat. I'm buying spacers and possibly an M-Tech bumper so I can get rid of the tattered bumper I have now as, buying some BMW matched leather dye to save the front seats. Also, anyone good with e46's or bmws in general recommend any help with P0174 P0171 codes that keep coming. I've replaced the MAF, DISA, intake boot, air filter, and I've had the system smoked to check for leaks to no avail.

Car guys respect other car guys. If you are into Americana,Japanese cars or european cars or anything in between you are welcome

And respect other peoples opinion. I do not like the 2JZ. You might. And there is nothing wrong with that

Blatantly bashing any cars from a certain market. Be it american cars,Japanese cars or european cars. without basis is dumb. And should not be done in this thread.
This is mostly because it's tiresome to read through and can start an argument. Debate is fine. Arguments are just a waste of time.

Do not bash another guys car.

Because it's a dick move. And being a dick is against the CoC (harharhar)

Respectfully disagreeing is alright. Intentionally bashing something to bait people is not.
Word your opinions properly and bring up fair points or explain your problems with a certain thing clearly.

Can i talk about TRAINS!? :D

No WinNut. No you cannot. No

I'm still a bit on the fence about Tesla. They still need to up their quality control a bit before I am happy.

But the Model 3 looks like a decent enough car for the price.

Honestly your best bet is a RAM 1500 , because how are you going to haul your drywall supplies otherwise ?

On a serious note , get yourself a GTI .
