Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Yes they can.

As long as the pigmented glass in question was installed at the time of manufacture. Then no it cannot be required to be removed. If it is a "dealer-installed" accessory, like the film, that is a different story.

In in the U.S. that is.

I gotta admit, I didn't see the Porsche move coming with the 1.5 liter to handicap it so it doesn't threaten the Type R...  I'd take a Fiesta ST over this any day

and I'm with you, I'm usually a bit of a Honda fanboi

for the record, I didn't watch the review, just looked up engine specs and weight

Yeah, logically they could of put the same 9th gen si k24 in the 10th gen si and people would of bought it because of how much better of a car the 10th gen platform is... and it wouldn't cut into type r sales.

What I would do as a certified arm chair automotive executive:

Put the current Si's 1.5l turbo in a Fit and call it the Fit Si, priced and equipped to compete with the Fiesta ST.

Put the k24 back into the Civic Si, give it two trim levels (LX and EX). LX being an extremely trimmed down and cheap basic Si with no drivers aid tech, crappy touch screens, sound deadening removed, and no fancy gauges aimed for tuners that want to modify or want a lighter car. The EX being a model equipped with essentially the same stuff you get in the new Si for people that don't want to modify.

Keep the Type R how it is.

I didn't even think about the K24, but now that you mention it, you're right, it'd make a great engine for the Si.  Although, being a turbo 1.5, stock for stock since they're both right around 200hp, I can see the 1.5 turbo out maybe performing it.  overall I agree with your certified arm chair automotive executive plan, but I'm thinking the 1.5 turbo prolly has something to do with CAFE requirements

also, I wouldn't mind the Type R getting awd... :D

And putting the 1.5 turbo in the Si makes investors happy. Mass produced turbo engines are the hot thing, and its pretty new for Honda.

I was going to say that but I don't think the 10th gen platform is able to equip an AWD system. Otherwise yeah, I agree. Make it AWD and price it to compete with the STI/RS. Apparently the Type R is pretty nasty though. Set some record at the burger-ring... but it seems like every car is setting records there now days...

TECHNICALLY R33 and R34 had a very similar drivetrain.

But I bet it wouldnt be too difficult to swap things around.

Not for the WC34 generation. HICAS came in 2001-2004, according to wiki, and only in the top RS models.
