Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Ew I don't like the Z3 at all. The S2000 is pretty nice but I don't have that many good experiences with Hondas (the CRV we used to have was pretty poopy and underpowered).

The car doesn't necessarily have to be a coupe or convertible, just a regular car.

Yeah I am not a big fan of the clown shoe look either but I like the way it sounds (with aftermarket exhaust) .

S2000 is plenty powerful enough, almost twice as fast as a miata lol. also the S2000 is like the king of autocross if you decide to do that.

Well the thing with the S2000 is that most of them are way over-valued down here. People think they're special (which they are) but they're not anything extreme. So you get prices like this:

I think my pickup (or my what is left of a pickup) has a main seal leak, I noticed a puddle of oil under it and I looked and it's leaking about 1 drop of oil every second or two, I've been poking around and the only option seems to be take out the engine and replace the thing, that's a problem, I can't take the engine out myself and I don't have any friends, I am NOT selling the truck and I don't want to pay someone ∞ amount of money to do it, I found a Main Seal Leak repair thing, pour it in the oil and it fixes it, but that is only for minor leaks, any advice?

Go top -> down in your engine bay to verify where it's leaking from, usually with an oil leak you can't use a quick fix additive to stop it. That stuff just doesn't work.

discount tire is mounting and balancing them for free since they do that if you order wheels and tires from them :D guess that makes it take a bit longer for shipping but hey, that's another $100 or so we saved right there so we're super happy lol

And again, can't tell you what they are ;)

Okay, FINALLY getting a car this Saturday. Even took work off for the day so I could go with my dad to look at cars (and I think the whole process takes a few hours as well so...)

I have like $2,700 saved up but my dad says he wants me to have a good running car so he is going to help me out with the financing. I just don't really know what car I want, and my dad is asking me as well.

I would love a WRX but that price is out of the question, even if it is my favorite car. The only WRX I'll be finding is salvage title ones with tons of miles on CL.

I was thinking of a Miata since they're relatively abundant, especially ones that have manual transmissions. But I can't really think of anything else that I want. Maybe a 3-series but they get expensive to maintain after a while, not really any with low miles either. I couldn't really find any other Subarus like the Legacy or anything either.

Any ideas? I guess my buying range is anywhere from $5K to $10K. Probably best to keep the price low though. The only thing I REALLY want is a manual transmission. Other than that I don't really care as long as it's not a Civic or something. I'll probably be getting it from a dealership if anything.

i was gonna say protege es with a manual 2.0, but those can be found for 3 grand. i would definitely say legacy gt. you can find one in a wagon or sedan, and if you look hard enough, a manual wagon gt. those are cool as hell.
