Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

I've been looking at various E46s, not sure how my dad will fair with that though. He considers BMW a luxury make so getting a cheap BMW probably won't sit with him well. I am pretty mechanically inclined though, as long as I'm not replacing any head gaskets or clutches I pretty much know the rest. Even then I'm sure I can figure it out.

if thats the case miata (if you don't mind convertibles) or Kswapped integra...

or maybe you can show him the actual maintenance costs, try to convince him if you really want the E46

it's quite a learning curve but once you start playing it you don't really want to play anything else because everything else will feel weird lol (especially call of duty.. oh my goodness call of duty feels so strange to me now -_- can't even enjoy it)

Not a big deal. I've stopped myself buying it because I don't need another game until I graduate. I've been doing a shit load of research on it so the transition into it is smooth. Gonna do a whole series on it from purchace to ranking up to get editing and livestreaming skills. Hopefully it goes well even if it doesn't get watched too much.

well really i need money for games. literally 98 percent of the games in my library were either free or gifted to me.

i bet it only does it once though... a lot of cars and even trucks can stop fast... ONCE lol

but hey, usually once is all you need. never been in a traffic situation where i had to full stop from 50+ mph twice in a row (Or even once.. i dont think)

but on a track or when you want to drive fast through canyons/mountains/twisties in general... yeah it's a problem.

I guess thats the nice thing around here. It goes twisties, straight stretch, then twisties again. Lots of time for cool down.

same thing here. Twisties are pretty rare here though, you really have to venture out for them. when i go out and find "that awesome place" its usually just two back to back curves LOL

Need to visit that "secret" road up in northern Louisiana sometime in the miata... it's the only worthy road in the state lol

at autocross though i do notice my rear pads get warm enough to leave marks on the rotors when the car is sitting in the grid area. I try to not use my parking brake there if i dont have to but sometimes there's that one spot with the annoy... wait i could just put it in gear. IM SO STUPID lol

I think I could do it in <15 mins, providing I was allowed to go around it slowly at least once.

That road looks awesome though ^_^ I'd show you the one up in northern Louisiana that we have but we vowed to keep it a secret... Lol. It's 14 miles of twisty bits, unfortunately in the middle there's a small town though so to respect the 3 residents we have to drive slower through that part, but other than that it's great!

I need to hit up the forest service roads that I was shown when we went camping. Literally no one on them, plenty of curves. Would be so much fun. In fact there was a Tundra out having fun when we were on our way back in town but that's the only other thing on the road that we saw. God that would be fun. Need to go have some fun out there one of these days.

Do it! Just make sure you're away from people. People bring trouble. Don't get yourself in trouble

Meanwhile me and Matt topped at 140 on the one straight section of the secret highway in the mustang... xD

I think the only way I could ever convince myself to buy a brand new car is if I literally got every option I'd want. It's not worth it if you don't really. Just get something 1 model year older. Buying cars brand new is never going to happen for me I think. Unless it's a WRX STI. Then it may be a different story.

And, feedback.

Except I can drive with no effort using my pinkie even in parking lots, it's fantastic. And even if the electric rack fails it's electric assist, so I can still steer if it fails. And hell, I don't really need feed back, unless it's a serious performance vehicle I don't see a reason to bother with hydraulic steering. :P
