Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

he is saying: moar speed = less turn because moar speed + moar turn = no turn.

torque steer occurs in an fwd (or sometimes an awd) vehicle this is when the wheels that steer the car spin at the same speed and dont allow the car to turn as sharply. (this only applies to wehicles where the steering wheels are powered, in an rwd vehicle this wont happen)

I get how torque steer effects turning but that doesn't exactly explain why someone can't turn in the first place. You're either going far too fast or don't know how to turn.

Is that 90 already converted to the octane rating you use in the US?  Or the other kind.

Well the info was coming from the owner manual so I'm assuming US

My owners manual says the car should be running 90 Octane, local stations usually have 87, 89, and either 91 or 93 depending on the station. So should I go for 89 and call it a day or spring for the extra bit of Octane and be good?

in norway and sweeden atleast, 95 octane is the "standard" fuel. if you dont have any issues with it i`d go for higher octane. shouldnt be an issue with lower but you might get SLIGHTLY better performance with higher octane.

good to hear! (my corolla is going into an inspection in june i think so i need to get cracking soon, it has sat for a large part of its life since 1998, brakes need atention, suspension, bushings are gone, tyres are dryrotted and fucked, all the serpentine belts need replacing, front left fender, indicator and headlight need replacing, front bumper needs to be replaced, i need a new spare tyre, blinker switch needs replacing, horn button is screwy (works sometimes but mostly its either permanently off or permanently on and it makes a cruching noise when you push it) i also need to remove the ILLEGAL exhaust that GRANDMA bought for it (cheap aftermarket stuff, was cheaper than oem and thus it was purchased and installed, it is sligthly louder but not really noticeable)

ps: it has to get inspected before i can mod it, it needs to be 110% stock, if it isnt then my application for modifying it wil be denied.

Which is my point... by decreasing the turning radius, you can travel at a higher speed.

I have Monday off but when I go to work on Tuesday, I'll report the maximum speed that can be taken (before understeer forces me to cross over the white line). You'll understand that it's perfectly safe, just as taking a left turn. Maybe I'm different but I don't use the same speed on a hard right than I do on a sweeping left.

You're not quite making sense. I take plenty of tight right hand turns quickly and still easily manage to safely stay in my lane. If you're going so fast that you're loosing grip and have to go wide into the next lane, then you're going too fast on public roads to maintain proper control, IMO.

Sitting for a long time is a killer for cars.

My car sat for two years before i bought it and it took almost three months of daily driving before everything was ok again.

yeah, there is a BIG plus to it as well tho, there is so little rust on mine compared to other e11 corollas.

also, im getting good feedback on the rollla build, as long as i pass my next inspection its a go (i will get it ready as soon as possible wich means i will quickly remedy its current faults and get it inspected then dump wads of cash on mods)

Went in for an inspection. Failed because of the parking brake not working.

Fixed the parking brake and it went through.
